I expect it to be mid 20s but you never know, Hughes could be an inside man and destroy the Wild dressing room, one could hope.

A lot of good things on line about this Buium kid.

Buium might end up being quite good. A legit #1D someday soon? It is possible, maybe even as likely as not. There are few young D in the league with better potential to get there. But a #1D on a world all star team? Like only Hughes and Makar could claim? No way. Top 10 in the league guy? The thing that would make him the second best defenseman in Canucks history? That’s a long shot.

So that’s the prize in the deal. I think I might rather get 3 years of firsts with Buium than the deal itself. Ohgren has that feeling of Loui Eriksson—didn’t he have a great month with Lekkeramaki in Djugardens when they were 18 and therefore they will make each other better? You know, that kind of logic. Of course a totally different stage in his career. Ohgren could absolutely be a good player someday. Like Lekkeramaki. Or they could both bust.

As for Rossi, I don’t see a ceiling any higher than he’s shown. Which is a good nhl player who isn’t a difference maker on a team.

I am surprised they couldn’t have gotten a little more here. And if QH didn’t ask for this….

The idea that the Canucks would blow this generational talent is depressing. Much worse than this disappointing season. Sort of wish they’d fired JR before making the move….

The most valuable part of the haul is the first round pick. Buium will likely do the American thing and bolt at the first opportunity - being Jewish in a Canadian market puts a bullseye on the poor kid. Ohgren has utterly underwhelmed and Rossi is a shrimp who has never been a PPG player.

They’re placeholders till Pettersson is gone and the next wave, starting with this draft, is ready for bigger minutes.

I didn't see the Jewish part. Don't like that even more now because of what you say.....he will be gone. Adding a player with Jewish heritage to a Canadian market under the current climate is absolutely asking for this to be a short-lived affair. I have no problem with his heritage myself, I actually support Israel, but as a business decision for building a team, this could look really stupid in a short time.

Rossi is a shrimp, and nobody was expecting him to be a 1.0PPG guy. The folly of it aside, this organization has decided to build behind Elias Pettersson as the 1C, and having a 60PT 2C is nothing to sneeze at for any team.....provided that all 4 of the top-6 wingers also approach that production.

Boggles the mind, but instead of being a lifetime Canuck and having #43 in the rafters here, QH will have the majority of his career on another team(s), have his jersey retired elsewhere and likely have at least one Cup, unlike this team.
