Topper started a thread some time ago on what do the Sedins do and are they being properly utilized?
Perhaps a query still not properly answered.

Agreed and I'll own my part in this. It was going ok for a bit. I'm going to pull a Topper and start a list. My viewership will be cut in half. Last post on this. Dude and I aren't the only ones participating in this nonsense even though we perhaps steal the show. He is not capable of owning any partof this mess. The Miller asscrack lickers and Baldies bashers like to wind the place up too.
They've played three solid games and the kids are improving right before our eyes. Shitty goaltending', injuries and rotten luck have derailed a team that could be in a WC spot. I'm now embracing the tank. I don't start out like that but they need a top 3 pick

I'm the same Blob, don't want to be in the weeds again for another 3-4 years, but if we can get a top 3 (hopefully a top 2) pick in this draft, and a top 5 in the next, with some good (lucky?) lower draft picks in the next two drafts - it will really set the team up for success.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 9:59 pm I don't start out like that but they need a top 3 pick
I can get behind watching a star player develop, was fun watching the Sedins go from Sisters to Super Stars. Those goals man... Sedinery and Witchcraft.
Even in losses that might be fun.
What I don't want to put up with, is if the best player on the team is traded for a few 22-26 year old players that aren't stars/have super high ceilings, and we watch a middling team, middle for 3-4 years. Tank, draft high, rebuild. No fuckin' re-toolin.
Re: L-GDT: Red Wings @ Canucks Dec 8 7pm PST SN Pac
Yep - there's a lot to be said for watching youth develop, vs seeing the same ol' vets plug away at mushyocrity.
I think all had some hope for the season - but here it is... almost Christmas and we're sniffing around at a top 5 pick. The team needs to take advantage of this opportunity.

Look, I don’t want Hughes to be traded but I have accepted that it will lost likely happen now.
That being said, if the Canucks want to try a “mini rebuild/retool” trading him is now the most logical move. With him not having any trade protection, Vancouver should be able to bid up the value and he should be able to return at least 4 assets. A smart management group here should be able to get 1 or more first round picks, a decent roster player and a top prospect. Vancouver should be able to even take back a bad contract here too to help with bringing in more valuable assets to help the “rebuild/ retool.”
This plus moving out other UFAs and keeping their 1st round pick this season, most likely a top 3 pick, should help with a quick rebuild.
That is what a good management should be able to do.

A “mini” rebuild doesn’t include Hughes being traded. Trading Hughes means a tear it down and replace the studs sort of rebuild. Maybe some existing wall panels and doors get rehung, but it’s a totally different house at the end of the day.theman wrote: ↑Tue Dec 09, 2025 7:38 am Look, I don’t want Hughes to be traded but I have accepted that it will lost likely happen now.

Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Holy crap, I totally forgot about the game last night. I had a long day and just relaxed after dinner and read a book. I would have watched it if I remembered as I still believe for a top 3 pick in 2026.

The epic Blob and Chef war is as old as dirt, think Wyatt Earp vs Ike Clanton days. We would need to drag John Steinbeck up from his grave to put it to words. You think Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurty was epic? Think again. The Hatfield and McCoys is child’s play when compared.

More like the old G.I. Joe vs Cobra cartoon.
A million shots fired in each episode, but nothing ever hits its target.

If we're going with cartoons, Tom & Jerry is probably a more accurate comparable.Carl Yagro wrote: ↑Tue Dec 09, 2025 11:46 am More like the old G.I. Joe vs Cobra cartoon.
