That would be the end of the Third Reichel...

(There have been 3 Reichels that have played in the NHL :D )

Only if Hughes wants out. The preference should be to sign him to a lifelong Canuck contract.

For all the talk and naming of names for management to sell off, the more players we trade off, the longer the rebuild will be. The kids they would draft won’t make an impact for another 3-4 years at least - and there’s no guarantee that management will be able to replace the players they traded off with those picks.

Not talking about getting middle-six scrubs a-la “Bird Bones” Sutter or the Sea of Granlunds either. Keep some folks like Boeser and Garland - players who can contribute in the top six during the rebuild - and get what you can for the rest.

I’m still not sold on a classic rebuild. If they shit the bed this season and end up with a top-5 pick, then use it but keep building with opportunistic trades and develop the youngsters we have. They’re not core, but they’re not nothing either. We have one of the youngest rosters BTW.

If Hughes decides to bolt, though, that changes everything. At which point, launch Petey into the sun, take Demko out behind the shed and start over.

Rutherford: Canucks won’t be rebuilding, even if Quinn Hughes leaves

Hopefully the baldies don't get to do the Hughes trade if it happens. JR has got to be ready to retire soon.

Nemec is starting to crank it up, Mercer is having a bounce back year. I’d do -Nemec, Mercer and Jersey’s 2026 1st rd pick for Quinn Hughes

I’m tired of the same old fucking narrative with our idiot organization. How much more of this same old shit do they need to experience before they realize that “hey this really isn’t working, maybe we should try a new approach.” Fucking brutal

I was hopeful that Rutherford was going to be the guy to change the thought process here, but no, same shit different idiot.

A decent amount of Roslovic discussion around these parts ranging from (as I recall) positive (Snoozi) to hard nos (Dude).

Stats thus far in Edmonton as tweeted by Paterson this AM...

So essentially one of the top 5 defensemen in the league is getting moved for a potential 2C, a potential top-4 D, and a high 2nd round pick?
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Yeah, it looks good for Roslovic.

But…..

Bear in mind that he is playing behind McDavid and Draisaitl. He’s producing points on a team that only cares about the offensive end of the rink.

If he was in Vancouver he would be facing better defenders more often because he would be being looked at to carry the weight of 2C without McDraivid leading the charge.

Jesus Christ.

Always a fucking but with Canuck fans.

No one said he would match that output here.

Butt (wot)....

...with our illustrious VP waxing poetic of late about his (failed) 6 month effort to fill spots that dude was sitting right there and is a better option than what we see on the ice now.

I was replying directly to the comment by Patterson who on the heels of quoting stats said: “…seems like a lot of teams could have used all of those things.”

But carry on.

Anyone here subscribe to the theory that owners and their dogs begin to resemble each other?

Allow me to present to you a new breed of man's best friend.

I didn’t say “keep in mind”.

But the spirit of it is accurate, so to his words; yes.
