Well, nice turnaround from the first period.
4th Line was arguably their most consistent line.
Garly was feeling it - especially in the 2nd.
The PP was looking good. Was digging the motion on the one PP.
Dallas is legit. This started ugly, and there were still moments when they got hemmed in their end for a while, but this was a legit win. Big win.
Good start to the trip.

I stopped watching after the first. But it was being recorded. Saw the score at the end of the second so I watched the recording. It finished just as Dallas scored to make it 4-3. I knew then it was me. I can't watch or they will lose. So I stopped watching and low and behold Hughes gets the EN and we win.
Moral of the story, no more live watching.

I'd like to keep a low profile, fly under the radar most of the season, get some backup goalies, and maybe sneak into a spot with a late surge.
Demko and Hughes willing of course.

Started late and watched the whole thing despite already knowing the score with 4 minutes left in the game.
First period was an abortion. More of what we saw through the first 3 games. That being said, they did keep Dallas' grade-A chances to a minimum, and Demko was again very good.
In the second period they started moving their feet, and fortunately the capitalized on one of the first chances they got (Chytil). They built on that and took back the momentum. The PP clicked finally which seemed to give them even more boost. Considering they were being outshot 18-6 when Chytil got his breakaway goal, they really took things back the other way over the next 25+ minutes and with 6 minutes left in the 3rd they were up 4-2 and the shots were 24-26. They managed to keep a trailing Dallas team to only 13 shots in the final 40 minutes despite giving up 18 in the opening frame.
Hopefully that first period is where they finally dropped the lacklustre bullshit and leave it behind.....They've played 12 periods of hockey now, and 3 of them, especially the last two, have been good. Build on this one.
Players of note.....(nobody besides Demko looked good in the opening period, so let's forget about it lol)
Boeser quietly doing things. 3G in 4GP, PK'ing, doing little things. He will never wow anyone with speed, but he's smart. He is not afraid of traffic, and contrary to some round here, he's not afraid of the boards.
Garland. The angry elf was buzzing, rewarded with a goal, but he could have had 3 points in this one.
Hughes was definitely looking more Hughes-like tonight.
Kane was better, not super noticeable either way, but recorded a point on the opening goal with a nice lob from below his own hashmarks to sping Chytil.
Contrary to some comments tonight, Pettersson was more engaged. I noticed him taking the puck with some speed through the neutral zone, and he was moving the puck quicker on the PP. I don't think for a minute that the 1.0PPG EP is ever coming back, but he was better and I'll acknowledge that.
Demko.....we all know it.

He was better, but one thing that concerned me was the way he would pass off entering the offensive zone and let someone else take it in. He should have the confidence to cross the blue line with the puck and try to make something happen.Mëds wrote: ↑Thu Oct 16, 2025 10:05 pm Contrary to some comments tonight, Pettersson was more engaged.
