TBH, I am not really bumped out by Boeser leaving. He will probably command that kind of cap hit but I think it is too much for him.

I'm bummed about the departure of the individual, but on the same page as you regarding cap hit. $7M x 6 would be the max I would go for Brock.....I would consider $6.5M x 7.

But we do not have enough skill guys that can carry the team on any given night. Unfortunately we don't know if we have enough "playoff" guys.

We have one warrior, Hughes.

We have good selection of bottom six guys.

Oh wait, we already know all of this.
That's why any player with a blend of beef, skill and attitude - especially with a credible playoff resume - can pretty much name their price if they're under 33 years of age. Florida has done a good job drafting and trading for those players and those players hitting their forecasted value. A fair amount of that is likely coaching, but also shrewd management.

That said, DeBrusk has a decent playoff resume and has the build to handle the heavy-going. He's just no Brad Marchand or Reinhart.

That's also why I would be happy to see Lekkerimaki be traded for an upgrade in the top-6. You look at the past Stanley Cup champions, and how many players who profile like Lekk as a pro are on their rosters? Kid has skill and some promise, but he isn't looking like anyone a team would lean on to win a Cup. Kid could become the next Nylander, but how much has Nylander done in the post-season in Toronto??

Another thing you heard about last night (a lot) was how close-knit the Panthers are. That has to make a huge difference compared to the (alleged) friction in the Canucks room.

How this translates into team-friendly deals in the near future for Florida still remains to be seen.

Nylander has 26G/58P in 67 playoff games.

Nylander is also the guy who yelled at Marner and Matthews to stop bitching and play.

Bennett's extension will set that tone. Will be interested to see what that will look like. There's no way he's hitting the UFA market.

Praising a Swede?!?

Are you sure you're feeling well?

Nylander may have given the most fucks among those forwards but his playoff +/- on aggregate is -2, with 3 GWGs in 67 playoff games played. I wouldn't say his play backs up his bitching at Marner and Matthews.

Besides, even Nylander is a wildly-optimistic ceiling for Lekk.

To put it differently, how many stick-thin Swedes have contributed meaningfully to a Championship? Even Backstrom is north of 200 lbs.

Unless the kid gets an infusion of Peter Forsberg's DNA, I don't see him contributing to a Championship team in Vancouver unless as a trade piece that got a contributor on the team.

The top 6 is fucking brutal. These are the words I use to describe the misery - fucking brutal. But yay, our defence!! I like how some think it’s easy to fix the top 6 like waving a wand, twitching your nose. Viola! Done!! Walk away!!!

Good luck in attracting UFA’s to this drama. Might as well sign Boeser. The likes of Bennett ain’t coming anywhere near here unless we offer him something ridiculous which ain’t happening.

Regarding Abby. I have this to offer up regarding Karlsson and Silovs. Thank you, Jim.

‘According to Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects, Jim Benning and the Vancouver Canucks' scouting staff reportedly had a disagreement at the draft regarding who to select in the first round.’

Who the fuck is Cam Robinson? Deep Throat? A god damn media clown for Elite Prospects, a Botchford bro, wow. Twitter Warrior. Is he the same guy saying Pettersson is uncoachable? I believe this pod casting, Twitter keyboard warrior, Tik Tok influencer as far as I can throw ‘em, ffs.

Exactly. Elite Prospects? Who is he? JD Burke’s buddy? According to Mëds, Cam is different than those who have gone after Benning with the same shit. “Cam Who is the real deal!” - Mëds! As good as gold!!

Please. Canucks Daily is the national Enquirer of media rags, a cheesey oufit. C’man, Mëds yours better than that.
