Maybe we trade Demko for a bucket of KFC. At least it's not cannibalism.

Re: 2025 Canucks Off-season
Pierre LeBrun reporting that Vancouver management is "encouraged by his approach this offseason."
This on the heels of Petey being invited to golf with Foote, Hughes and Demko. An interesting trio he picked to apparently talk about the leadership group taking accountability, holding each other accountable while supporting each other to do better.
Encouraging signs emerging from what some may describe as a soft-core hockey professionalism intervention session.
I would lean on "proof's in the pudding" to salve my skepticism, but by then it would be too late.
I guess we wait. This offseason is starting to edge me hard...

Encouraging.
Watching the game tonight...watching Podkolzin powering around the offensive zone...are we really going to miss Tick Rocket?
Why couldn't he give the guy the direction to become this version of himself instead of whatever the fuck he had him doing for the Canucks?
Knoblock was able to give the guy clear direction and he's thriving in that role. We surely could've used this Pod no?

Remember, Tocchet breaks his spaghetti in half, he is a disgrace to all WOPkind, a fuckin’ mangiacake. Not even a proper Paisano. Shameful. Sergio Momesso and Wally Buono most likely can’t stand the guy.

I'm a 1/4 Italan. I'm not a grubby Sicilian like the dude that kicks drywall, insulation, lead, paint and asbestos all over the number 1 while drinking a Vodka rockstar getting a tuggie from one of his more feminine carpinders.

Re: 2025 Canucks Off-season
Not sure which thread this should go into, but Canucks Off-season sounds about right.
As you know Nils Höglander is from a godforsaken one horse town in the middle of nowhere. Bockträsk (or Goat Swamp, if you will), population roughly 20.
He started playing hockey as a young kid in Malå, population 2000, some 40 km away.
Nils is spending the summer at home.
The municipial ice rink in Malå was scheduled to open in mid September, but Nils contacted them and is paying for them to get it ready from the beginning of August already! Great news for those who like to skate. And a reminder that even scrubs in the NHL have a pretty decent salary.

So, the yellow house on the left belongs to Nils's parents.
If you follow the road just a few hundred meters toward the lake, there is a big new house with a massive garage under construction.
My guess is that that is where Nils is hanging out during the summer.
The pics in google streetview is from May 2023, so the house should be finished by now.
That must be a gorgeous lakeview!

28 year old soft slow Boeser for 8.5 mill/yr 6-7 years
vs
37 year old Marchand for 8.5 mill/yr 3 year
Let's go for ratface. Get him here, groom hoglander into a mini swedish rat.
I'm sure the Sedins will be understanding, they're all pros.

Linus can make up Brock's 25 goals next year.

Re: 2025 Canucks Off-season
As much as I like Boeser and may even miss him, he has not been a prolific scorer for us. He has been a good scorer. He had one 40 goal season. I think in FA he will get a 6-7 year term at 8-8.5. Hopefully it is a team he wants to go to. Now that he has emotionally begun to separate himself as a Canuck it will be easier for him to move on. Our luck he moves on and becomes a 40-50 goals per year guy.
We don't have guys like Bennett or Reinhart or Marchand or ...... We did have one in Miller and another in Horvat. But we do not have enough skill guys that can carry the team on any given night. Unfortunately we don't know if we have enough "playoff" guys.
We have one warrior, Hughes.
We have good selection of bottom six guys.
Oh wait, we already know all of this.
