Kuzmenko and anyone else.

Mostly Mikeyev and Kuzmenko before the Horvat trade; Beau2 and Kuzmenko after.

And of course lots of points on the Miller-Horvat-Petey-Boeser/Kuz power play.

Obviously he had a lot of success with Miller and Boeser, but that line was something we saw much more the year before.

Mostly Kuzmenko and Mikheyev... and Beauvillier.

(at even strength of course)

Yeah, was wondering if the success was tied to the Lotto line.

Just 25 of his 102 points were on the power play that year.

A fair presumption.

We forget that Kuz was a serious talent that first year.

Listening to Halford and Brough's takes on the Allvin and Rutherford end of season interviews.....

I'm fucking depressed.

Rather than interpreting Rutherford's comments on the Hughes brothers as tampering and that the Canucks are going to attempt to acquire Jack and Luke, they instead consider that the negotiation could go the other way, and that they will be sending Quinn to New Jersey because it's highly unlikely that anyone is going to take Pettersson as the central piece of a blockbuster deal like that. I have to agree with them. New Jersey would be gambling massively in any trade like that, even if the Canucks threw their next 3 first rounders, Willander, D-Petey. and Scooter, at them in exchange for Jack and Luke. If Pettersson didn't bounce back to being an 80 point guy, Jersey would essentially be where we are today.

Based on a few different takes from these guys and a couple of their guests, I'm resigning myself to the fact that Hughes will likely be traded before the expiration of his contract.....at which point I will probably lose all remaining interest in this organization.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Dude, if you want to play with your brothers and your two seasons from it, why would he extend here. Read the tea leaves. Jersey is in the drivers seat, why would they sell the farm to get him now. Wait two years, get him for free. And why would any other team sell the farm for Quinn knowing he “wants to play with his brothers” in two seasons when he is free to choose where he can play. Idiot Rutherford, again with another poorly timed loose lips event, just put up a billboard to the other teams of any would be suitors warning them “he wants to play with his brothers”.

The best thing they can do is trade him now as “a rental” to re-coup your best return. The further we do this away from when he becomes a UFA the better. But I’m just not seeing us being this smart enough.

The writing is on the wall. Either trade him next summer or he'll probably walk away at the end of his contract.
Rutherford must be resigned to it happening to put it out there. But on the other hand his comment about keeping enough cap-space available "to give Quinn the kind of contract he deserves" makes me wonder what Hughes has actually said. Either way the Canucks need to do what's best for the club, and if there isn't a truly legit 1C available this summer then keep the prospects, make the pick, and build the club for the future with or without Quinn.

No more than NJ is already gambling with a 23 year-old 1C with four serious shoulder injuries to his resume already. That's in addition to his other three 'upper body' injuries. The kid has yet to complete a whole NHL season.

The question NJ management would have to answer is whether they would take an older, costlier 1C with a more established, mature game who - while having an injury history of his own - doesn't appear to have any chronic injuries; or whether they would keep a younger, cheaper 1C with just as high a ceiling, but with a worrying track record of shoulder injuries.

I think it's a thing, but I don't think there are any foregone conclusions regarding Quinn at this point. Rutherford was likely talking about the elephant in the room, what with the chatter in the market of whether Hughes would stay if the team is truly the tire-fire it was this season. Quinn's desire to play with his brothers is likely more than just wistful thinking, but I've also heard him sincerely voice his sense of responsibility as captain of the team to help it find success. He's not so mercenary as to pull a Gaudreau or Tkachuk.

Would he be over the moon and psychologically settle down for good in Vancouver if his brothers were traded to Vancouver? Of course. Is he going to bolt if they don't? Hardly; and I don't think management needs to bring in a superstar 1C to keep him in Vancouver.

If Petey bounces back; management gets a 2C and fills the holes left by Boeser's inevitable departure; and the team gets back into the playoffs, I wouldn't be overly worried about whether Hughes wants to stay or not. Winning is a hell of an incentive.
