MLB playoffs

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Are you serious? I like some of the kids too, but those championship teams had it all and a boatload of swagger.

They may seem cocky to other fans, but I remember them as pretty likeable. My favourite was Olerud. Much much more likeable than the Bautista, Donaldson teams.

Buster Posey retired today.

A credit to the Giants, MLB and an honest, hard nosed ballplayer.

Only the second player in MLB history to win rookie of the year, an MVP and 3 championships.

The other being Pete Rose.
DeLevering since 1999.

Buster Posey was a gamer. Hell of a player. I guess the body was breaking down too much. He still had game. Those Giants teams were damn good. Mostly on the backs of Posey and Mad Bum. Mad Bum is now a shell of his former self. Not even very old. The guy I liked on the Giants back then was Brian Wilson. My god is that dude hilarious.

How do you make it through an entire 4 hour game though? Do you like, nap for long portions? It makes 5 day test cricket seem exciting

Test cricket is exciting - says the guy who woke up in the middle of the night to listen to the live radio feed descriptions of Courtney Walsh breaking Prabhakar's face and leading the Windies to victory in India.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

I can definitely appreciate a trolley full of cakes, bickies and tea to break up the monotony of defending the wickets all day

Tea break in the West Indies, an already half cut commentator gleefully announces, "refreshments from the Estate Owners (rum) to the members of the fifth estate."

The pitch clock has sped up the game big time and that pitchers have to face a minimum of three batters. A lack of knowledge about the sport is a tough thing for some folks to overcome. I'm sure there's a local tether ball league you could participate in.

I mean it's not for everyone. Just like golf isn't for everyone. I'm not an NBA guy either but I've seen it live down low and it's a lot of fun to watch live. And this is watching Pig Country Reaves, Blue Edwards and a washed Byron Scott. The Grizzlies could have worked here had Arthur gotten a decent partner and they didn't dip into Essondale to hire Stu Jackson. Fuck the NBA.

Golf majors are usually awesome to watch.

Back to MLB

Yankees all the way Baby!

Fuck the Dodgers and the Mets. I hope it's seven games and I hope they have a lot of long games to torch their bullies. I'll cheer AL either way.

Judge needs to put the Yanks on his back. Him or Cole.

LOL the Blue Jays are a disaster. They had to punt Gibby and Anthopolous just because. Having lived through Elmo and his Tard group, it's nice to see another team get saddled with horrific management. Looks good on Toronto.

Vlad cashes in. Blue Jays could have done this a lot sooner and a lot cheaper.

There must be three MLB fans here and Aaron doesn't post much.

What say you Ratski?

Jays still need a bat.

I’d say the Chef need a fat bat to even out things a tad
