Just Not ready

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Well you were involved in a conversation involving the opinion of Canadians on how the Lib government handled Covid.

So I supplied an Angus Reid poll from last week on the opinion of Canadians on how the Lib government handled Covid.

:?

BTW, the string I quoted began with this post of yours to Mëds:

rikster wrote: Tue Mar 11, 2025 9:32 am You thought the government over reached during Covid...well the majority of Canadians would tell you to wake up...
Not sure why you think the majority of Canadians agree with you.

Not sure of the relevance of your poll from 4 years ago.

Note yours truly in that string:

Strangelove wrote: Tue Mar 11, 2025 3:17 pm Rikster not only speaks for "world leaders and the business communities"

... he also speaks for "the majority of Canadians".

Take carotene...
What a wacky post...

The point of posting a survey taken in 2021 is to show that opinions change over time or do you think a poll in taken in 2025 about a crisis in 2019/20 is more relevent than a poll taken in 2020 or 2021?....

ANSWER: A poll taken in 2025 (last week in fact) is infinitely more relevant to the conversation at hand than one taken in 2021.

You and the rest of us were talking about what "the majority of Canadians" think today.

Oh, and you didn't need to "show that opinions change over time".

Everyone knows that.

I'd say what you were actually doing is more akin to what we call distraction, but whatevs, moving on...

Listen up Rikman...

The theme I've been hitting you with is that you tend to continually speak for others in an attempt to bolster your arguments.

Over the past week you have spoken for "world leaders", "the business communities", and now "the majority of Canadians".

But you supply no evidence of what these folks/groups actually say.

("go see Mr Google" is meaningless btw)

Peeps are just supposed to just believe you and your outlandish claims.

It’s bad enough you constantly commit the ‘appeal to authority’ fallacy, but to misrepresent that authority in so doing, well…

Rather bizarre, no?

Guilbault as Quebec lieutenant is all you need to know about Carney building pipelines.

The guy who let Jasper burn to the ground is now Minister responsible for Parks Canada.

Carney brought the cameras in for a dramatic clip of him signing a paper as he announced the Order in Council suspension of the consumer portion of the carbon tax.

No idea what he was signing because the GG signs Order in Councils.

But hey, Trump does these dramatic signings do Carney's may as well try for the tv cameras.

The fake.

Add it to the resume

Are you suggesting that isn't what world leaders and the business communities and the majority of Canadians are saying?

If your answer is yes, then what world leaders and buisness community leaders and Canadians did YOU talk to...

Instead of trolling my posts, what YOU should be doing is start taking an interest in the topics being discussed so instead of being a troll you could add some value to the discussions...

The topics I chime in are on issues that I have an interest in and have been following for years...if he has issues with any of my posts he can use whatever source he's comfortable with and offer a counter opinion...

Or he could just start following the topics on a regular basis and save us all from the trolling...

Carney orders review of Canada's F-35 purchase.

Because the aging F-18's are barely airworthy.

The F-18 is the new Sea King of Canada's flight group.

Well duh.

(hell, I even used google to disprove what you said about the majority of Canadians)

I've asked you to prove what you claim is said by "world leaders and the business communities".

Your answer was 'google it', which is meaningless.

And now your answer seems to be "I've talked to them, that's how I know!" LOL.

rikster wrote: Sat Mar 15, 2025 10:12 am If your answer is yes, then what world leaders and buisness community leaders and Canadians did YOU talk to...
So you've talked to the majority of "world leaders and buisness (sic) community leaders and Canadians" have ya?

And that's why you can't supply evidence of what they think! Image

You. Just. Know.

... and folks need to take your word for it.

I'm not "trolling" you Rikky, I'm exposing you.

You're clearly full of yourself.

I estimate you're about 14% as smart as you think you are.

Best you hear it from a friend my brother.

I have not done that Rik... you clearly need to work on your reading comprehension.

We all use google you putz.

Just quit using the 'Appeal to Authority Fallacy' when you can't even prove what said Authority thinks mmmkay? :scowl:

Take care...

Why?

Were should Canada be spending their Defense procurement?

Is battlefield compatibility not an advantage?

How many procurement studies reached the conclusion that the F-35 was the best option?

How long do you expect the remnants of the F-18 fleet to be operational and what do you expect of their readiness/inoperable ratio moving forward?

Do we want to rely on the US for spare parts? They don't seem to be a reliable ally anymore.

Portugal has already made a decision to move away from F-35s.
