We're no longer building/adding to that decent looking core of Miller, Horvat, Pettersson (when he was good), Hughes, and Demko, etc., because it has evolved and left us with not much of a core anymore or one that needs to be rebuilt. So it's time to pivot to a new approach that abandons quick fixes.
Sadly, I think our 'core' consists of Hughes these days. Did I miss anyone?

...but we can still compete with the leaves' Core Four with our Core One.

Jack Hughes done in Jersey for the rest of the season, would they take a risk with Petey?

Good plan. Eat up as much of their cap space as you can so they have no cap to sign Quinn.

Think we're all in agreement here. The closest thing we've ever had to a generational talent since Pavel. Can never take this kid for granted and enjoy him while he's here folks, just hope it's for a long long time.

It’s ballsy. I’d offer EP40 for Jack straight up. But, Jack has now had 2 shoulder surgeries. No matter where he plays, I hope injuries don’t shorten his career.

Wouldn't even hesitate on that. I'd even throw in our 2nd.

Jim Rutherford explained to Gary Mason in his recent and infamous interview - “we are going to trade our way out of this”

Jim. I’ve only got one thing to say to this - ‘good luck with that’
Hey Trump, I’m ANTIFA.

So with the exodus of character two-way centres Miller and Horvat to New York over the past couple years, the team is sorely lacking in leadership, experience and game breaking ability down the middle.

Management now has a gargantuan mandate to acquire a top six game breaker who can support Hughes with the heavy lifting.

Mason McTavish is the first player that comes to mind. Would Anaheim deal him? For the right price, any player is available

At what cost though?

They'd might do it for Peter. But who knows. They seem to be a budget franchise and that's a lot of money.
