I’d still do Pettersson for Cozens straight up. Cozens just needs to stop fighting. He can’t fight his way out of a paper bag. Still a better sight than Pettersson. I’m done with Petey

Yeah..... to me Peterson has the 20 odd games remaining at best to prove he wants or deserves wear the sweater. I push back against the Scooter Crew because they like to tell only one side of the story. They have poo poo pants because Miller got traded. I said all along, trade them both. Doesn't matter at the end of the day. Allvin and Rutherford are more than partially responsible for this mess. Fix it. The guy that's hung out to dry is Rick Tocchet. Rip the guts out of this stanky core. They need to know at season's end if Quinn will re-up in 2026 before the last year of his deal. If he is at all hesitant you need to look at moving him. Demko is a cool dude but he's damaged goods.
Boeser is an idiot for not taking that 5 year 40 million dollar deal. Beat it. I'm a bit pissed at Alvinn for letting Zadorov and Ian Cole walk. Guys like Cole and Schenn kept Miller in check. You need these crafty vets, glue guys to complete your team. The mouth breathers piling on Cole at the end of last season seem to forget he had a broken earthpad and was playing his offside. One grubby old poster kept saying Noah Juulsen had surpassed him. Sure.... and rikster will surpass Usain Bolt in a race.
There's maybe 5 centres in their 20's they can target. Like top 2 line guys. Player needs a fresh start. TEAM needs a fresh start. Mëds needs a new player to whine about. Wiebo will go back to picking on Hoglander for no reason. We dont have to read about Scooter Boy and 11.6 every day. Everybody wins.

If a deal comes along before the TDL that the Canucks can live with, then cut bait earlier. I don't see him being a guy who is going to somehow pump his trade value before the end of the season without a serious playoff performance.....and reality is that playoffs aren't a guarantee at all for this crew, and more than 5 playoff games is a fucking pipe dream. I'd rather not hang onto that contract on the strength of an unlikely hope and prayer.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Sat Mar 01, 2025 5:36 pm Yeah..... to me Peterson has the 20 odd games remaining at best to prove he wants or deserves wear the sweater.
You're just mad because I've been right about Pettersson since day one.Mëds needs a new player to whine about.

I am dismayed that I was.

I gotta say, I honestly never expected this. I always saw him as a guy who could score you 100 points with the right linemates, but you never pay him to be your best player, or a leader, because in the absence of the right partner(s) he would be a 30G/75PT guy who was an inconsistent threat.....instead he's a 16G/55PT guy who averages 1.8 SOG per game. Worse still is that he averages only 3.8 shot attempts per game.

If we are walking Boeser to UFA without getting an asset for him, what will your opinion of this management group be? Let’s put Suter in that question as well? I honestly believe you could get a decent asset in return for Suter.
The Canucks will get destroyed in the first round, I certainly hope management realizes this and should be thinking long term here. If not, I’m pretty much done with the Aqualini Canucks.

Walking Boeser to feee agency would be a horrible move for this franchise. Either re-sign him or trade him.
As for ‘sucky Petey’ if he is legitimately injured either physically or mentally just sit him and get it fixed for next season.
TBH, if the Canucks are planning on keeping Tocchet for next season, I would still trade ‘sucky Petey’ before his NMC kicks in.
If they are planning on bringing in a new coach, keep ‘sucky Petey’ but still shut him down and let him reset for next season.

Yeah there somehow seems to be the thought out there that we might add at the deadline. If two home playoff date Frankie really forces that I might take a holiday from this myself.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 8:17 am If we are walking Boeser to UFA without getting an asset for him, what will your opinion of this management group be? The Canucks should flush their ufas and utilize their cap space to snag draft picks and/or prospects. This year is over

Me too, just don’t think it will happen. Aqualini wants his playoff revenue. The man is just way too short sighted.
Bieksa yesterday on the current state of the Canucks: “They don’t have the same bite… it’s not a hard team to play against right now… got a lot of stick-checkers out there.”
If this team actually makes it to the playoffs they will end up minced meat after the dust settles. So why fucking bother?

Well my opinion of this group when it comes to signings and trading for defensemen is overall decent. Forwards? That’s another matter.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 8:17 am If we are walking Boeser to UFA without getting an asset for him, what will your opinion of this management group be? I do think it’s very hard to fairly judge any management group under the current ownership.
If both Boeser and Suter walk for nothing then this group gets a fail.

Another year of increases.
Better ice a decent team soon or they'll start losing buyers again....

Doesn't matter to me Megs.
It's all about staff and clients at this point.
Been years since I went to the rink.
But once the tickets are tough to even give away then hard conversations will be had to justify the five figure investment.
Luckily the seats are in a private Club section thus still Harbour some interest from folks....

The dismal and very disappointing on ice product along with the increased fees for next season have been online discussion for a couple of weeks.
I wonder how much this has to do with the weak CDN $
