For

Cozens ($7.1 million per) and
Bowen Byram (RFA) at seasons end.

Flip Byram to another team for future considerations

The 2025 1st is the sweetener in making up for Buffalo taking $4.5 million more in salary

lol. ‘Pipe dream’ indeed!

I love how people run down Petey like he is a track and field course, then think he has trade value.

Yep. At this point his trade value is, at best, Cozens and Byram. The former is a "lesser" skilled forward who, (perhaps) like Pettersson, needs a change of scenery, the latter is a top-4 defenseman on an expiring contract. Chances are the Canucks would have to add at least a 3rd rounder.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Dude. your undervaluing of a player due to personal feelings is amazing.

I am glad your feelings don't sign the trade tickets.

You're joking right?

The guy is plugging at a 56 point pace for over a year now. He has been next to invisible for the Canucks and has now been effectively benched at the 4 Nations tournament by his national team coach.

If Pettersson was making $8M for the next 7 seasons after this one, then his value would be higher than what I suggested in my previous post. However, you have to factor the player's trade value with his contract. Any team taking him is risking that they are acquiring a fucking boat anchor contract from the next 7 years. That drives the return way down.

This has nothing to do with "feelings".

I'm not alone in my thoughts on this.

How long is the hottie he's dating going to hang around? Homeless in Sweden due to his real estate acumen and now a National embarrassment because of his hockey skills.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

The notion that what you're seeing today out of EP40(%) is what you'll be seeing for the rest of this contract is not realistic.

He's not this bad.

There will be a return to from eventually

Is that a risk we can reasonably take?

Maybe we have Seden's version of Jonathan Cheechoo on our hands.....the difference being that our version has a contract that will be really hard to move right now, and nigh impossible on July 1st.

Fifth highest paid player in the league is an elite turd line centre.

Exciting isn't it.

I am still going to hold out hope that a shrink and someone kicking his ass this coming off season will turn him around.

Despite all the bitching people do I have noticed some positives.

- He doesn't fall down as much.
- He goes to the front of the net, often.
- He hits people.
- He takes care of his own end.

What I have also noticed is his hands seem a little slow and his skating had dipped. The Hands I am confident he can recover since he is still a young man. The skating is also something he can work hard on and correct. Up the foot speed and learn some edgework from Quinn Hughes and he will be fine.

These are not insurmountable problems. You hate him, so of course you are going to magnify his flaws.
