Our offense sucks. Forward group definitely does not have enough scoring punch. Despite our chances I don't see us even getting half of those looks against a team with a decent blueline and 200 foot gameplan from the forwards.
.
Toronto is one of the top 5-10 teams in the league. By all accounts they're pretty good and getting 2 wins on them looks pretty good.

They weren't off their game or anything either. I've seen them plenty this year and they were playing their A game. This is a full value win

Good win. Vancouver has been kicking the piss out of Toronto regularly. It's getting like Per calling out Mëds on the main drag in Terrace and feeding him with right hands in front of the local yokels.

As I type this I'm seeing this stupid Seniors Choice Life Insurance commercial where that old bird with white hair and yellow teeth is leaving the fitness facility and 'saying as I enter my 50's' ....... blah blah blah blah..... She looks 80. One foot in the grave and one foot on a banana peel. Its worse than the Mini Wheats commercial where the chubby little guy with Alligator arms beats his retarded son in ping pong and celebrates like Joe Carter after hitting the walk off bomb in 93. Give me the Tainted Love Hospital commercial or a trailer for the next Beachcombers episode.

Demko for fuck sakes.... hopefully the rest is what you need brother.

Very much an "if". I see the scant prospects of Demko ever going on a prolonged healthy streak again as the biggest short-term limitation for this team.
Lancer wrote: Sat Feb 08, 2025 8:04 pm Will we see that this season, so management knows what they have here for once this year?
My prediction is: only very briefly. But the team will look great for those fleeting intervals.

A few comments;

Holy Jacques Lemaire that was a devil of a neutral zone disruption by Vancouver. Very effective clogging the neutral zone, standing their ground at the blueline and making it very difficult for the leaves to gain entry with speed and set up. A solid team effort at it

Likely Scooter's best game of the season. He created open ice for himself to work. The shift of the Hronek goal was by far his best of the season. An interesting set play that nearly clicked a second time. My concern is that after that goal, Vancouver spent too much time and effort trying to be the leave's back door man becoming one dimensional. Scooter's cross bar was his early career bread and butter.

Slowly as D Pete becomes more comfortable we are seeing his slap shot. Never knew he had that blast. I get sticking to the tried and true wrister, making sure it gets through to were it can be tipped or played by team mates in close over the extra time to wind up and then be trapped if it is blocked. That is a heavy shot similar to Hronek's.

Meyers is a fucking beast. His D zone play is very underrated when he bears down and physical without taking penalties.

Leaves looked tired, maybe they could have used an extra 3 hours sleep and a 7pm start time.

Ricky has repeated said this season that guys haven;t been sticking to or executing the game plan. Appears they have begun listening and executing.

Who knew the K was silent in the name of Vancouver's supposed #1 goaltender.

The Canucks apparently won 73.5% of the puck battles. That is encouraging

For the rest of the game he played well. Could have had 3 or 4 points.

Hronek going back door like that for the score was good, Petey's cross seam pass was better.

Puck movement by our defense is so much better with a balanced top-4. Hughes puts it way over the top when he comes back. D-Petey continues to impress.

Our offense sucks. Forward group definitely does not have enough scoring punch. Despite our chances I don't see us even getting half of those looks against a team with a decent blueline and 200 foot gameplan from the forwards.

Demko again making the case to move on from him.

No. It’s monthly on Prime. I think I have a week left? I’d have to look.

If I do it will be on a streaming site. Not putting anymore money into this team or league for a while.
