Could be. That would explain his hesitancy in his latter Canuck years to let 'er rip.theman wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 12:01 pmDidn't Salo break a teammate's leg from one of his slap shots? He unleashed it and one of the Canucks standing in front doing a screen got the full blast.Mëds wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 11:57 amThe PP setup the 2010-2012 team used on occasion with Salo. He'd setup on the LT side or middle point, and while the Sedins cycled down low Salo would quietly exit the zone and come back in from center ice with half a head of steam on the RT side and walk into a feed from Hank. Those were huge.Carl Yagro wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 11:45 am Meh, I added at least 15mph to my muffin with these new tech fancy twigs. Just about any NHLer could probably hit at least high 80's or low 90's with these sticks and some mechanics tweaks.
Also... when are you ever going to get a chance to step into one like that from the blue line during a game to generate that kind of speed? Not even on an empty-netter. Can he even hit one during a game? Who cares? Just put it into the net. They all count.
Quit posting high, Cuz.
Didn't do it often though, and Salo was on record saying he was nervous to unload his biggest shot because he didn't want to hit a teammate in front of the net.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.
I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

One of these guys came to Vancouver, played with his heart on his sleeve (for good and occasionally bad), was signed to a team-friendly extension and then followed that up by proving to everyone that he was worth said extension the following year.
One of these guys came to Vancouver, surprised us all and gave us hope for the future, pouted when things didn't go his way, and then held out for a not-so-team-friendly extension and then showed us all why he's not worth that extension the following year.

From X
To everyone asking why the Miller/Petey rift is happening after being teammates for 6 years, it's cuz EP40 is now the 5th highest-paid in league and JT is holding him to that high standard

How dare he?! I'm sure others in the leadership group never thought about that for a second and had some "milder" talks.
I'm sure the passive/aggressive tone of the GM in the interview weeks prior was addressing something completely unrelated.
Standards? You talkin' bout standards? (in Allen Iverson's voice)
Hold someone to account to earn what they demanded? My gawd, what is become of this society? You'd never find the owner doing this to his current or ex-employees. Someone should ask them.
Wonder why trading the angel is even a consideration? Perhaps mgmt and the captain knows it'll take a shitload more than 11.6 to keep him here when it comes time.

So if Miller is traded and EP103.2 returns to the form he demonstrated early on in his career....who are you more pissed off at?

Even if he's returned to being a top 5 center, piling up the points, flexing his 103.2 mph cannon all over the place, driving play deep into the playoffs...?
