I like the Desharnais gambled and pinched to get that puck - especially when he won that puck battle. Take some chances to keep playing on your toes.

So.... we can only play on Saturdays from now on.
Good game, some lucky bounces, but we played well.
And that diving save at the end??? Glad we didn't need that one!

Oof.. then they weren’t playing on their toes.
That said, this was the bizarro Canucks again… or was the last couple months largely bizarro Canucks???
If Torenius gives the nod to management on Lankinnen moving forward, trade Demko somewhere out East for a haul.
Still saw largely ‘Good’ Miller tonight. Say what you will about the potential for him to be traded and whatever that does to the team, he played hard tonight.

3 Saturdays in a row. 3 HNIC wins against top teams. Plus another one against the Avalanche.
Look, they're still not a great team but one single NHL capable dman instead of career AHLers in the lineup makes a huge difference. We've been saying this for months while the media keeps pushing the BS drama they've been fed (perhaps some from the team itself).
This team can still compete and win a wildcard. Management has to do their job... about the D. Let the chips fall where it may in the offseason for the other issues.
Desharnais and Forbort held the fort decently tonight against the best team in the league. Props to them.

I'm afraid Demko would be an offload as opposed to haul worthy at this stage Lancer..
He has to be regarded as damaged goods currently.
Can't see anyone ponying up much....

Hope they keep Soucy on the right side and De-Petey in the line-up even with Myers returning next game, but I doubt they will. They could have Friedman, Deharnais and Juulsen eating popcorn for the first time this season if Tocchet makes the right moves.Picker of Cherries wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 12:54 pm That’s the defence I told them to use last game.
I’m expecting they won’t lose a lead tonight.
Does that mean they’ll win - YESSSS!
Didn’t notice De-Petey having trouble turning. He had a nice, quiet calm debut.

Yes, D-Petey was managed well. Eased in with just over 10 minutes of ice time. More importantly, we got the good Soucy who played almost 20 minutes and protected him. The whole group played calm enough despite the forechecking pressure all night.Picker of Cherries wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 9:51 pm Hope they keep Soucy on the right side and De-Petey in the line-up even with Myers returning next game, but I doubt they will. I would love to see a run with the full healthy group of dmen, maybe with Desharnais, Forbort and D-Petey rotating and then hopefully whatever happens, some games from Willander at the end of the season. Just no more Juulsen or Friedman if possible.
EDIT: Did D-Petey actually played mostly with Desharnais? If so, I gotta give Vinny even more props.

Yeah Heinen is the issue.
Couldn't be the fact the 5 million dollar goalie has 3 wins. Or the top 2 centres have less than 2 dozen goals combined while siphoning almost 20 million off the cap.

How awful is this team had Jim Benning not shrewdly drafted him?

D-Pete is a beaut. The kids future looks bright, I love his aggressiveness in front of our net, chopping the wood. But, damn the big boy can skate and handle the puck while so, keeps his head up. And also, he’s a smart player who plays with fire. With Willander knocking the D situation moving forward is looking pretty good. What a pair those two will be. Mëds must be livid over the thought of more Swedes coming down the Georgia Viaduct while Doyle is cranking meth under it lying on his cardboard mattress with his stolen bmx bike for transport.Carl Yagro wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 9:58 pmYes, D-Petey was managed well. All teams need mid late round picks to exceed expectations. Hopefully D Petey is one of those, he has probably matured more quickly than expected.

That was a pretty good After Hours yesterday. Looked up his wife after they were saying she was a Volleyball star. Buddy did ok!
Carbery has done a great job with that team. Caps seem to have all the pieces.
