Callups to replace the sickly?
General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that D Noah Juulsen has been placed on retroactive IR (retroactive to Jan. 14) and D Elias Pettersson and F Linus Karlsson have been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL).

Ya I think most people would agree that they punched above their weight class last year and some had predicted a drop off this season, back to a more real showing of what this team can do.

Yes, a lot of things went right last year. Yes, a lot of things that went right last year have gone wrong this year.

Reminds me of year one for Benning when we made the playoffs and the Canuck management fooled themselves into thinking a major rebuild wasn't required, just a re-tool and tweaks. Benning bought himself a few years with that illusion.

So maybe last year was the bounce for a new coach. This year is a more reflective showing of what our team is. Keeping both Cole and Zadorov would have cost us around 8-9 million. Not sure we could have done that one, unless we decide not to sign Debrusk. Perhaps that would have been the more reasonable expectation given that we know defence wins championships. Of course if we had kept those 2 then we would have saved money in not having to sign Forbert and Desharnais.

So maybe in retorspect not singing Debrusk, Forbert and Desharnais and re-signing Cole and Zadorov was the way to go. It would not have fixed our top six problem and would not have prevented injuries to Demko, Boeser, Josuha, Hronek, Pettersson nor the JT absence, well maybe if we were winning more. But it might have provided better defence and made the difference in a few games. And maybe we would be firmly imbedded in a wild card spot. A lot of maybes.

Last year I enjoyed watching the team most nights. This year is painful. Last year they had grit and heart. This year is painful.

A few players looked sickly against Ottawa. JT had a dominate game against the Oilers but looked sluggish against Ottawa. More than a few times he looked gassed trying to get back to the bench. Others looked off too. I doubt D Petey gets into the line up but Karlsson might. Of maybe we are showcasing them.

I'd have to go back and look again but I believe their goals per shots % was unusually high for most of the year.

Especially so for a team with no Datsyuks or Gretzkys on it.

Was unlikely to reoccur.

If, by chance, D Petey gets in a game. I hope Tocchett trolls the play by play guys be either putting D Petey on the wing with C Petey, or just 1 shit of C Petey on D with D Petey.

Pretty much.

One had some hope as a player and one did not.

Could Scooter exist with the intensity of Miller and Kesler?

I'd swap Ohlund and Edler
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Would Peter give Kes the Alien Death Stare for suggesting everyone needs to take less so they can have a better and deeper team?
