Unfortunately that ain’t happening. Apparently Lafreniere and Schneider are untouchable.
Some ex-Broncos coaches may disagree.
Anywho, McJeezuz and the Chaos Giraffe both got 3. Oilers get a lot worse. We kinda, maybe get a bit worse. Or better? Hopefully the team rallies around the whole mess.
I was dismayed by the play of the 4th line center in last season's playoffs.
I am dismayed by management being dismayed at how to fix the problem they created.
I am dismayed by the scheme of using a red herring to amp up some minor disagreements into a full fledged clusterfuck to divert attention and force someone to waive to save themselves... because trading a max contract during the first year before the NMC kicks in would be an awful look.
I am dismayed by earlier rumours of discussion starting with Zibanejad as the centerpiece and it has now become Filip Cheetos and half of the Hartford Wolfpack.
I am dismayed by earlier rumours of talks that dangled Necas as the main piece and it has now become Jesperi Kotkaniemi.
Not even going to mention the Buffalo rumour.
Other teams now see your desperation and toss their garbage at you.
iMac: "Has The Core Run Out Of Chances?"
What chances? They just finally made the (real) playoffs last season. The core is already over? The window is shut for a season or two or three?
55 years and counting... this fuckin' franchise, man.
I put some of this on the fans. We put up with shit and keep paying the price of admission.
Up until 2011 I used to really like watching the Bruins. You didn't fuck with anyone on their team without paying for it. Their fans were demanding. After 2011 I had the same hate for them that most Canucks fans did.....that has waned. I've gone back to respecting their franchise and the culture they have there and their willingness to pull the trigger on moving out key guys because something didn't fit the mould.
Pederson was only 25 and was a better than 1.0 ppg player for them already.
Thornton was only 26 and they shipped him out because he wasn't a fit.
Phil Kessel, not buying into the culture.....gone.
Just 3 examples.....
Culture is key. It's bigger than any one player or a fan favourite. It's why the Canucks have never sustainably built a contender.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

10:4 on that one Carl.

You forgot Sequin. Too much or a party man and prima donna for the organization so they shipped him out.
Quote from Boeser at yesterday's practice: “I’ve been through a lot of seasons with this stuff happening, and this might be one of the worst years I’ve been through with all the injuries and distractions and stuff."
This, coming from Brock, you can imagine how the guys in the room feel. Tocchet hasn't had them consistently in last season's shape, but he has challenges beyond X's, O's and Petey vs. Miller.
It's why I say I'm managing my expectations of this season. With everything that's gone on, this season will either see them turn a corner or will become a wasted season. Either one seems equally probable. Even so, the challenge for management will be deciding whether it was just a Murphy season and work on improving the core intact for next season, or whether there is an intractable problem with the core and either blow it up or make a decisive alteration to it.

Carl, you should not listen to so many rumors… it’ll wreck you.
I was happy when 1/2 the shit you listed was not true.
Very true, MCP. You're not wrong about that. The media knows as much as we do so most things aren't true... and I'm also happy about it.
But these turds have been constantly floating around for years now and it's really difficult to follow the team without avoiding the piles of dogshit dropped all over the place. At least the crap brings some discussion to THIS place.
The National Hockey League announced the Vancouver Canucks quarter-century first and second team on Tuesday morning. Both teams are scattered with old and current players.
Here are the first and second Canucks quarter-century teams.
