Re: Around the league - PRE-SEASON
Didn’t Wayne mentor his boozey son in law - Dustin Johnson getting him off the booze? Seems like ole Dustin needs to return the favour.

Devin Cooley has become my favorite Flame. I hope he makes the team. Check out this interview - refreshingly candid and open, and upbeat.

In this case, you have to forget about what team he plays for - I think his attitude and upbeat nature is something most people can appreciate.Cornuck wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 9:29 amI can't believe I'm watching a Flamer interview....Raile wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 9:17 amthanks for posting this, you're right that was such a better interview to watch then the usual NHL'ersBCExpat wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 9:09 am https://youtu.be/XJ7biBNsrHw

I did - I usually can't stand watching player interviews, and wish they would do away with them in the middle of the game, and the same with coach's interview during the game.

Fantilli with the hatty last night, the kid is set to becoming a star.
Seth Jarvis with two. Big new contract, thd Canes love this kid. Seems to be the next coming of Brayden Point. Another mid round pick that shoulda gone top 5
Chef is very concerned with passing on Zach Benson (BC kid) for Willander. Could be the next Seth Jarvis, maybe even better.

Neely held a presser saying Swayman has $64M reasons to be in camp right now suggesting the Bruins have a $64M offer on the table.
Swayman's agent responds that they have not seen an offer and finds it underhanded that the Bruins are handling negotiations like this.
Spittin' chiclets guys are suggesting Swayman to Detroit.

Re: Around the league - PRE-SEASON
That will be a kick in the pants to Boston after they traded Ullmark so they could re-sign Swayman.
If Demko gets quickly healthy, and Swayman still unsigned, I'd offer Demko plus any semi-reasonable addition.
25 years old, a workhorse who shines in the playoffs, from Alaska (making Vancouver the closest NHL city to home).....if he can be had for $8x8M in a sign and trade, I'd do it. Takes him to 33 on what will be a reasonable contract in 2 years time. We have to negotiate with Demko when he's 30.

Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Goalies aren't worth that percentage of the cap.
The Bruins know that.
Swayman will learn it.

Laine out for the season.
