I don’t believe it was ever money for Lindholm, he didn’t seem completely ever sold on playing here from the get go.

And DeBrusk is a very good skater. Yes, I think that's a design to these moves.
Although, I have seen Sherwood more as a straight line "missile" skater than a truly excellent skater. Have not much more than the playoffs to base that on, hope to be wrong.
Still, it is all a little curious. Would have prioritized depth D over depth F. Expecting (hoping?) that they are done today and last move will be a poach.

Didn't want to be a 3rd line center.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 10:11 amI don’t believe it was ever money for Lindholm, he didn’t seem completely ever sold on playing here from the get go.

Sherwood was a heat seeking missile vs us in the playoffs. Was in on the double team on Hughes.UWSaint wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 10:13 amAnd DeBrusk is a very good skater. Yes, I think that's a design to these moves.

Because Lindholm isn't worth that.
Debrusk 27YO, 40PTS last season, $5.5M
Lindhold 29YO, 44PTS last season, $7.75M
Canucks save over $2.2M, yes Lindholm is perceived as the better skilled player but his play has fallen in the past couple of seasons. I like Debrusk at a lower cap hit because it also means they had more cap space to sign other players.

Probably the deciding factor. We still need a righty on the blueline. Alexandre Carrier fits the bill imho.

We needed a top 6 winger. Blueger is ideal in the 3rd spot and him and Garland and Joshua played great as a unit.2Fingers wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 10:18 amBecause Lindholm isn't worth that.

We still need to do something with our back end as UW suggests.
Our current menagerie has Chaos as a top 4 and Forbort Juulsen as 5/6.

Do we need a righty? What about the 2nd pairing LHD? Who is that going to? Soucey? No thanks, he’s good on the 3rd pairingMegaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 10:20 am We still need a righty on the blueline. Alexandre Carrier fits the bill imho.

Juuls can't be our third pairing right D Chef. He needs to be a fill in.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 10:22 amDo we need a righty? What about the 2nd pairing LHD? Who is that going to? Soucey? Soucy is a decent #2 lefty.
