Keifer Sherwood was 15th in NHL in hits with 234. 12th among forwards. He was a thorn in our side in the playoffs. Like this tidy piece of business

Heinen is a Langley boy, put up good numbers last year in Boston with 17 goals and 19 assists. Is 6’-2” 195 lbs and is 28 years old.

Nice work on the bottom 6 Allvin. Sherwood and Heinen. Canucks seem to be sticking with the size factor that Tocchet likes. Sherwood is solid at 6’-0” 200 lbs

How is Heinen and Sherwoods skating?

I'll expand later when the frenzy dies down and posts aren't getting drowned.
Look forward to it. I'm not gonna fight hard on it -- I don't mind the player and the player type for the system the Canucks are playing, I was just a bit surprised by term (and worried about term b/c lack of consistency).

Sherwood is yawn fart. Looking forward to glowing articles about his jam, he will be a fan favorite for a short while, and then longer term we will wonder whether it wouldn't just be better to give a guy on the farm a shot. My prediction: I will post things about how hitting is supposed to separate puck carrier from the puck and is to be made before the puck carrier makes the play; others will post their admiration for finishing his checks while the play is unaffected.

Heinen is a good value sign, I think. Bruins tried him on the PK last year -- I don't recall whether he did well in that role, but if he can manage it, that's a plus.

EDIT TO ADD: Forbort fine for a 6-7 signing. Nothing more than that, paid only for that. No problems with the signing.

Sherwood was 12th in the league in hits by forwards. Thats Tocchey Hockey right there. I’ll take that

Sherwood and Heinen have Tocchet written all over them. Wouldn’t be surprised if Tocchets wants played a part in the Canucks going after these two

Just enough cap space left to sign a back up.

Unless there are trades, I don’t see much more work for Allvin and co outside of building up the farm depth.

Yeah I just read that too, both bring physicality and speed and can chip in goals.

Lindholm getting $7.75 x 7

must not have been about money or fit.. assuming 7x7 rumours were true, I'm not sure why the Canucks wouldn't have done $7 x 8 if it was about money.

Updated

Heinen-Miller-Boeser
DeBrusk-Pettersson-Hoglander
Joshua-Blueger-Garland
Podkolzin-Suter-Sherwood

Petey has some proper size and speed in Heinen and DeBrusk. Heinen potted 17 last year while DeBrusk potted 19. Not your regular Mike Bossy but I like the size and speed factor for Pettersson to get more room
