US Erection 12 *AND* 16 *AND* 20 *AND* 22 *AND* 24 *AND* Beyond

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Yup, "detached from reality"...

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics ... d=msedgntp
Just 9% trust media ‘a great deal,’ 33% 'none at all,' highest ever

The poll highlights:

- 9% in U.S. trust mass media "a great deal" and 31% "a fair amount."
- 27% have "not very much" trust and 33% "none at all."
- The percentage with no trust at all is a record high, up five points since 2019.

Since the 2016 election, Republicans and Democrats have been widely divided on the media. Democrats have supported the media which has been harsh to President Trump while Republicans have abandoned the mass media for that reason...

In its “Bottom Line” analysis, Gallup said, “Americans' confidence in the media to report the news fairly, accurately and fully has been persistently low for over a decade and shows no signs of improving, as Republicans' and Democrats' trust moves in opposite directions. The political polarization that grips the country is reflected in partisans' views of the media, which are now the most divergent in Gallup's history.”

Of course a lot of lazy lefties enjoy basking in the false reality that the Trump-hating leftist media reaffirms for them.

(why I call them "goosestepping morons")

But look at the Independents... only 36% of them now trust the media to any degree.

Per, what planet do you live on?

Or have you become one of those lazy delusional baskers in your old age? :(

Another kick to the nuts to trumpster.
#SCOTUS throws out Texas's suit attempting to challenge presidential election results in four battleground states, granting Texas leave to file its complaint but summarily dismissing its suit for lack of standing:

https://www.supremecourt.gov/orders/cou ... r_p860.pdf
ORIG. TEXAS V. PENNSYLVANIA, ET AL.
The State of Texas’s motion for leave to file a bill of
complaint is denied for lack of standing under Article III of
the Constitution. Texas has not demonstrated a judicially
cognizable interest in the manner in which another State
conducts its elections. All other pending motions are dismissed
as moot.

Statement of Justice Alito, with whom Justice Thomas joins:
In my view, we do not have discretion to deny the filing of a
bill of complaint in a case that falls within our original
jurisdiction. See Arizona v. California, 589 U. S. ___
(Feb. 24, 2020) (Thomas, J., dissenting). I would therefore
grant the motion to file the bill of complaint but would not
grant other relief, and I express no view on any other issue.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Mmmmm, looks like NBC was right.

Reputation intact :)

Per, what planet do you live on?
Planet Northern Europe.

Image

... which from the looks of it is not all that different from planet Canada:

Image

Whereas virtually no one in Europe trusts social media:

Image

So yeah, I do trust articles in well known established newspapers far more than something someone living in their parents’ basement posts on some obscure website financed by Russia or some Chinese fringe cult.

And to me that makes perfect sense.

Now, I know polarization is at an extreme level in the USA, but that’s not what the rest of the world looks like. I often try to link from British media, as they are not part of the US current mess, yet British media is also far more polarized than what’s the case in most northern European countries, so I guess it can be hard to gind English language sites that are seen as truly objective, yet if I link to Swedish or German news sites I doubt many of you will be able to read it.

Either way, I stand by my opinion that mainstream media is far more trustworthy than obscure internet websites.

Basically, from a European perspective, people trust radio the most, then TV, then print media, then websites, then social media. And in northern Europe we have more trust in printed media then they do in the UK and southern Europe.

What were the 4 criteria the were surveyed on?

And where did they conduct the surveys? I'd wager that they polled the GTA, Quebec, and possibly Vancouver. Sure they are the dense population centers, but they aren't truly reflective of the entire country. You basically just polled the left-loving strongholds.

The majority of people that I have spoken to in my area, and friends in other areas that are not metropolitan, have little use for Canada's major news networks.

Did you ever hear about "Harper's agenda"? CBC, CTV, and Global, all ran with that constantly. They weren't out to find the truth, they weren't out to represent Canada, they were out to help the Liberal party of Canada sow seeds of doubt and distrust in a Prime Minister who probably was the best this Country has seen for a very long time. Maybe not the most personable fellow, but highly intelligent, and his policies stabilized Canada through some very uncertain economic times.

The media is no different than social media.....for some reason they are just trusted to be reliable and objective.

Yet another great post from Mëds... you're on a roll lately buds!

As I said, today's lefties enjoy basking in the false reality created by the leftist media.

They don't care how many lies they're swallowing up with dat dere.

In fact they're as comfortable as can be slopping down all that propaganda!

Of course European pinkos "trust" the leftist media!

It's what they want to hear!

It's like the preacher and the choir.

It's like this...

Each lefty is like a baby, and the media is like its bottle.

Not a one of the little carpet rats is the least bit interested the solid food of research/truth-seeking.

This is what they forgot long ago:

When you start allowing the Powers That Be to program you... you become enslaved.

They think that bottle is the only thing they'll ever need... it's all so very, very sad.

This is why Per comes crawling in here, mewling and puking, regurgitating titty juice.

This is why Per doesn't want to consider for one second any alternate facts.

HELL NO! That stuff is solid food and babies can't handle solid food!

Per is just a fat little baby.

He wants his bottle and he don't mean maybe.

Sleep on sweet prince, sleep on...

That entire post by Doc and all Wiz saw was "titty juice".

Edit: Actually I'm betting all he saw was "titty" and just quoted the entire line.
