Help me out here....wtf is this podcast at the root of all this? I'm oblivious to what it is or why his appearance on there matters

At around the 23 minute mark they take a minute or two to beat down Burkis.

And Burkis hasn't shut up about it, go check his twitter after, it's gold. He blames those guys for giving him 'catatonic depression'

A few soy slurpers in the media are bashing Petey for going on that show, and apparently some Pettersson sweaters have been trashed as a result. Freidman has weighed in in support of Burke/against Pettersson.

Is there any truth to people tossing their Petey jerseys? I just can’t really see that happening..

And I think that JD is triggered because the boys on the pod are more knowledgeable, more entertaining, More popular, make more money and get more kills than JD can dream about.. but that’s just my speculation...

I'm getting most of this second hand, I don't really consume much local sports news anymore. It seems like another chapter in this shaming/canceling culture war that's going on. Soon there will be no more room for actual hockey players in hockey culture because toxic masculinity etc. We'll have to make do with left wing journos like Burke and Friedman reminiscing about the days of the NHL through a fourth wave feminist lens.

I’d be interested to read Friedman’s comments on his appearance on the podcast. I’ve only read JD Burke’s and Daniel Wagner’s incessant ballbabying.

In spite of all of Jimothy Dimothy's efforts, with the backing of the ridiculousness of "canucks twitter", alas this story is going nowhere. Friedman likely won't spare one of his 40 thoughts for this, even in the midst of one of the deadest off-seasons ever.
