The future in NOW mutherfuckers.
Benning will be pushing his balls around in a wheelbarrow if he can close on that rumoured deal. I'm sure it'll include the complimentary 2nd rounder that always seems to be attached but what the hell...i want the canucks to win the fuckin cup already

Yeah.... no. The future is in the next 2-10 years. Some people have no patience for a rebuild. Let the bad contracts expire, and move forward with the kids. The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Fri Oct 02, 2020 1:34 pm The future in NOW mutherfuckers.

Yeah but, that's what Shanny, Dumbass & Toons thought too.
You have to draft the right core and surround them with the right pieces. You start shelling out big money for the wrong players in the wrong areas, and your window almost immediately slams shut and you have to retool/rebuild again.
As much as I hate Boston, they've contended for a good decade. 3 Finals in that span.
The future is NOW... (and also in the future)
EDIT: Damn you Doyle, why you gotta beat me to the takedown of Yoodles?

Doyle, they made the west semis and almost the final with a trash defense. Just imagine the possibilities....

What about Brenden Dillon? Accountability? Way cheaper. I think he's just sending hints and feelers out there but that's a type of playerDoyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Fri Oct 02, 2020 1:37 pmYeah.... no. that would help in an area where we are questionable.

Having 2 actual top pairing calibre dmen (Hughes-OEL) would be so welcome in canuckland believe me. This past year we had Hughes and a bunch of depth. Thats it.

I'd put Dillon-Rafferty
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

On Markstrom - VAN has its walk away number in mind, don’t believe they’ve made that offer. Marky knows there is a market for him. Expansion/trade protection and term will be key in this.
David Pagnotta @TheFourthPeriod
Hearing contract talks between the Canucks and Tyler Toffoli are currently in a holding pattern. Channels between VAN and Toffoli's reps are still open. But in addition to their pursuit of OEL, among others, told VAN is also "trying to move money." (1/2)

Goodbye arm. Goodbye leg. Gut tells me this OEL deal will get done, only at what cost?
While I applaud the Miller trade a year later (hated it when it happened) and loved the brief playoff run enough to afford benefit of doubt, my biggest fear may be coming to light in that management & ownership will do anything to win now that they'll end up getting suckered into deals that may cost us a better, LONGER window a few years down the road. The potentially massive anchor salary is one thing already but it's the prospects/picks going the other way that really makes me nervous. That said, if it means solving the Eriksson and some other cost saving problems like perhaps Jake or Stetch then it's worth pursuing. As for prospets I can live with losing OJ and/or maybe Lind or Rafferty, but any deal involving our top hopefuls like Pod, Hog, Rathbone, and/or a 1st rounder, my message to management is just say NO! While there's no guarantees any of those players will hit, the key thing is those are the ELC players that potentially put teams that are close over the top. I'd rather bank on that over big aging contracts.

Uh, yeah, no shit. Do you have to take a community college course to be this good of a reporter, or just turn in 50 labels from cracker jacks boxes?
The Cup is soooooo ours!!!!!!!

I’d have less problem with this potential deal if Vancouver could send Tyler Myers back the other way.
