I propose:

To the Montreal Canadiens: Loui Eriksson and Jake Virtanen

To the Vancouver Canucks: Karl Alzner and Max Domi
I really don't see a fit for Domi here.
Oh I don't know.

Miller-Petey-Toffoli
Domi-Horvat-Boeser
Pearson-Gaudette-Motte
Roussel-Beagle-Sutter/MacEwen
I would guess TT isnt resigned but Tan man and Marky are. He just didnt show enough to justify placing themselves into a cap bind.

Theyll be looking to shed salary and add value village level pieces only i would think
Toffoli didn't? He scored 6 goals and 10 points in 10 games.

He got hurt in the first game against Minnesota, and when he came back I'd venture to say he wasn't 100%. He had a great first game, but then looked slow, just like 75% of the team, for the rest of the series.

Regardless, if there is one FA that showed enough after a deadline deal this season, it's TT.

Not saying we should handcuff ourselves with the cap.

They have 20 mill gone with EP and QH pending plus Tanev and Markstrom. The one position with a surplus is at wing not including 2 top 6 pieces knocking on the door in Hoglander and Pod.

No if its me i say thanks for the memories Tyler

Also a very realistic way of doing it.

Yeah, I agree. I’d might’ve felt the opposite if Toffoli rose to the occasion and Boeser didn’t but the opposite was true. Boeser was great, Toffoli not so much. Tanev is hugely important to Hughes. I love that pairing. Sign Markey and trade Demko and keep drafting at least 1 goalie every draft

Agreed.

And I know pretty much everyone will disagree, but I want Jake on the top line next year.

The ole pump-n-dump.

Miller - Pete - Jake
Pearson - Bo - Boeser

Sign Shotgun to a 3 x $2.8 contract (will be RFA after that).

Let Petey do the thinking for him.

Let Miller teach him to use his size and speed effectively/consistently.

And if it all goes to shit, try the same thing with MacEwen.

And if THAT all goes to shit, shave me bald and slap me silly! :drink:

Jake might one day click all the lego into a usable piece so I'm all for resigning him, although only as long as he takes a hit on the numbers.

I don’t mind this at all, of course there’s the chance that toffoli is willing to sign in that 5 million or less range for short term to try and up his value. If we move on from toffoli I hope we keep leivo for the middle six yet, he should be cheap yet.

I like Burkies take. The canucks need a top 4 dman with offensive capabilities.

So who fills that need?

There's Tyson Barrie coming up UFA but how the fuck is vancouver going to make enough cap room for a 6-7+ million dollar addition unless they can clear Loui-zer off the slate? Plus...just how shitty defensively is he? Its hard to guage his year in torontoilet because they're so absolutely fucked in that room that nobody plays for the crest whatsoever. He was far better in colorado. Not great but far better than this...

Who else is coming up UFA?

No to Barrie. I think we have potentially a better player in Barrie in Rathbone who is bigger and as good as a skater. Most people think Rathbone will be a top 4 D-man one day

We have Tryamkin coming the same time Podkolzin arrives

And if Juolevi stays healthy

But in the short term yeah we could use a good D-man. Demko is your chip to land one if we sign Marky. That being said - if Tanev is resigned and him and Edler have another healthy year our top 4 of Tanev Hughes, Myers and Hughes isn’t bad. It’s the 3rd pairing that needs help

Tyson Barrie is contaminated for life! Yuck..
Seriously, though; don't want him. 29 years old, UFA, and no doubt dreaming of 7 plus!! for decades six + years.
Not a sound organizational direction. Not even if Eriksson was out of the pic. Just not the right player. Think younger, bigger, with room to get better.
