A bit of a lateral move, JV for Crouse? Akin to hawks moving Tuomo Ruutu for Andrew Ladd.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 12:23 pm Although the organization is deep in wingers, I wonder what the cost would be to get Lawson Crouse out of Arizona. Plays hard, big kid, good skater who can PK and plays with plenty of snarl. At 23 years old he might be ready to break out.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Defense options:
Sign Byfuglien for a year until Jett Woo is ready? He could handle the trash talking big time in the playoffs and imagine his big scary ass next to Quinn? Byfuglien would probably get around 50 pts.
- Some team will overpay UFA Travis Hamonic.
- Barrie's price probably dropped significantly.

Or Free up cap to sign Alex Pietrangelo.LeBrun in April:
Byfuglien now UFA, free to resume his career wherever should he decide to play again.

Chara, at 43 (sic!), is a free agent.
Is he still interesting?
I mean, obviously, he was better ten years ago, but he is still logging substantial minutes and is still rather physically intimidating... just ask Kucherov...
Possibly a great mentor for The Tree?

Matt Murray and Domi likely traded this offseason as well.

Armchair thread......
I propose:
To the Montreal Canadiens: Loui Eriksson and Jake Virtanen
To the Vancouver Canucks: Karl Alzner and Max Domi

You think the Stars would have interest in trading left shot D prospect - Thomas Harley?

I really don't see a fit for Domi here. He'd have to play LW and I'd rather run Miller, Pearson, Hoglander, and Roussel down the left wing next season. Pearson and Roussel don't have much longer so they should be looking to integrate Hoglander into the lineup now while those two are here to help mentor and buffer him and still be decent contributors themselves. Hoglander's like getting a second 1st rounder.
I think Virtanen is gone regardless of what happens with Toffoli.
Same thing on defense, I'd be seriously looking at Rathbone given Edler's age and Benn's decline and age on LD. They're the two oldest d-men on the team. I could see them signing both Tanev and Stecher, bringing back the whole right side, and having Rathbone be newbie.

It will depend upon what Jake's agent is seeking.Curmudgeon wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 5:07 pmI really don't see a fit for Domi here. If it's another short-term deal at $3M or less you keep him. He's a wild card, and in a bottom-6 role the kid can be a game changer that other teams just can't counter because suddenly he shows up and plays like a first line power forward and they have no plan B.
But he will need to have a very big game tonight and then tomorrow if we survive.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

I would guess TT isnt resigned but Tan man and Marky are. He just didnt show enough to justify placing themselves into a cap bind.SKYO wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 8:36 pmOh I don't know.

Theyll be looking to shed salary and add value village level pieces only i would think

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO
There aint no room for a largely inconsistent, streaky at best, aging, Toffoli. He was brought in to solidify a playoff birth when the position was weakened by the loss of Boeser. Having someone with playoff experience was part of the thought process i'm sure. Price tag was a bit high but
this is the kind of hard-ass things you do to help your team to the end result. Who knows how the whole thing would have unfolded if not for the
health disaster planet wide.

I think team need wise a right shot D is highest. Tanev is injury prone and declining due to age, but he did play well in the playoffs. A short term deal would be okay. But maybe Benning could look elsewhere for a right shot D?
Wingers aren’t too important with Hoglander, Lind and MacEwen pushing. And Demko can start, just need a cheaper backup from a deep UFA goalie pool if Marky doesn’t resign.
