Canucks Army with an interesting trade proposal.

Trade Proposal
To #Canucks: Mayfield, Martin, Ho-Sang
To Islanders: Sutter, Stecher, 3rd Round Pick, Goldobin
I think I'd do this deal. We get a hulking RS D-man to play on the 3rd pairing. Martin prob won't play much, but would be nice to have a goon going into playoffs to take care of cheapshots from guys like EK. Ho-Sang and Golds both could prob use a change in scenery.
Good for the playoffs for sure, but I'd really miss Stecher's speed and puck handling skills.
If anything Mayfield replacing Tanev would be better (they currently play the same TOI minutes) and Mayfield has shown he can play well with a mobile puck rusher LD Devon Toews.

NYI gets Tanev a steady RD for their playoff run and can be let go after this season. And NYI more importantly has to shed to cap to pay bajillions for Barzal and Pulock both RFA's.
I know they'd prefer to move Boychuk but he has an atrocious contract and is injured quite a bit.
Pelech LD btw is done for the season - so they rollin with this now:
current:
Leddy - Pulock
Toews - Mayfield
Dobson - Boychuk
after trade:
Leddy - Pulock
Toews - Tanev
Dobson - Boychuk
So the trade ends up being:
To NYI: Sutter 4.375 + Tanev 50% (2.225) TOTAL $6.6M
To VAN: Mayfield 1.45 + Martin 2.5 + (2.225 retain) TOTAL $6.175M
NYI top 9 is more balanced, moving Brass to RW.
Lee Barzal Eberle
Beauvillier Nelson Bailey
Kuhnhackl Sutter Brassard
Canucks defense just is ready for a more longer tenure as Tanev is an unknown to return or not.
Edler Myers
Hughes Mayfield
Fantenberg Stecher
Benn
Now that's a solid hockey deal.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.
