Too bad for Tuna that Brisebois isn't in control of the leaves. They might have received a 1st rounder instead of forking one over. Nice one Dubas!Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2019 8:12 am But lets leave out the part where it cost the leaves a 1st rounder to dump Marleau and they still have cap concerns. And they still have to ice a defence. You’re right Tuna, it’s hilarious.

It's hilarious to think about how Leaf fans said they'd have no problem getting rid of that last year of his contractStrangelove wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 1:40 pm https://twitter.com/LukeDeCock/status/1 ... 9117969409

Hurricanes will buy out Marleau, Don Waddell said. Owe him his $3 million signing bonus now and $833,333 split over the next two years.
9:36 AM - 27 Jun 2019
... at the time Marleau was signed!
In the end they had to sacrifice a first round pick to get rid of it!

We like it when leaves fans are stupid. Ensures their team is sucking for one reason or another..
It's almost as fun to watch media make up excuses for that stupidity as well

Whether it be the inability to fix a glaring weakness on the back end or the way they caved to Nylander knowing that they had the Marner and the Matthews contracts to deal with to the decision to sign Loui Eriksson, I mean Marleau, the very expensive management committee in Toronto surely has lost its shine....Strangelove wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 2:12 pmIt's hilarious to think about how Leaf fans said they'd have no problem getting rid of that last year of his contractStrangelove wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 1:40 pm https://twitter.com/LukeDeCock/status/1 ... 9117969409

It reminds me of when Canuck fans said that we'd have no trouble getting rid of Eriksson and Sutter in their final years.....what'll it cost us?Strangelove wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 2:12 pmIt's hilarious to think about how Leaf fans said they'd have no problem getting rid of that last year of his contractStrangelove wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 1:40 pm https://twitter.com/LukeDeCock/status/1 ... 9117969409

Hopefully nothing more than a plane ticket to NY and the player's subsequent refusal to report to Utica.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Just like the comments about cap space is not important during a rebuild

I didn't hear we "got rid of Eriksson and Sutter"... "what did it cost"?
I didn't hear you had proof that "cap space is important during a rebuild"!

leaves are about to dump Zaitsev's entire 5 years and 4.5 million per. And before you say they get Ceci in return, leaves can walk away from him.

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
This trade is rumoured to be set for July 1st after Z's bonus is paid.
What will be the sweetener attached to Zaitsev?
And what if Ceci decides to sign the QO given him by the Sens on the 20th?
(he has up until July 15th to sign the qualifying offer)
As we know, Ceci is even worse than Zaitsev, but Zaitsev has 5 years left on his contract...

Hearing OTT/TOR are working on a Zaitsev deal. Might not happen for a couple of days, but it’s in the process.

There is belief that Cody Ceci could be heading back in return. Would make sense if it was processed after Zaitsev's $3M bonus is paid July 1.

That's very rare a player signs his qualifying offer.Strangelove wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 7:47 pmThis trade is rumoured to be set for July 1st after Z's bonus is paid.
