Beginning to hope both Brock and Bo are still Canucks after this weekend.
Getting scary.

Like many are saying, can't understand why we gave up the first. At least it is lottery protected I guess. His trades are horrible it seems.
Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver
Is it only miller coming back to us? Not even a 7th rounder with him? Come on Jim.
Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver
Miller is a playmaker who is very fast, can play both ways well. Sutter is the worst playmaker in the league. No comparison.Uncle dans leg wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 10:54 am Miller is a far better player who can move and uses his teammates. Sutter is a zero assist type of center.
No comparison
A 1st is insane though, 2nd line wingers don’t get multiple assets like this back especially when the whole league knows they have to be traded.

I’m not happy with this trade. Benning has drafted some good 1st rounders. Now he gives one away when we are still a long way away from being a contender.

A first is indeed plenty
They are about to shoot again, or so Sat says.

So I guess no upgrades to the D except through FA, I guess that is a good thing.

Agreed. A definite overpay for a guy of Miller's calibre and he's 26. Benning has to go or get him some help for trades. A first and a third should've landed you some blue chip prospects or younger stud players. Fucking hell.Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 11:01 am I’m not happy with this trade. Looks like Jimbro is getting desperate giving up a 3rd & 1st for a average winger.
I guess all the talk about him getting canned if the team doesn't make the playoffs must have some substance.
If he's overpaying for trades i shudder to think what kind of shit deals he's going to make in the UFA market.

We'll burn that bridge when we get to it

Has Miller played much wing? Cause that is what was needed. Another top 6.

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver
Hoping Benning can move some players out now. We need D.
At least if we miss the playoffs next year we keep our first. No way it will be a lottery pick in 2021. Got a lot of reasons to cheer for making the p,ayoffs now and not tanking, at least after next season
I like Miller and he will help our PP and top six. Just hate giving away 1sts at this point. Not the splash I was hoping for though.

I am in disbelief right now. I thought we were seeing progression from JB in his asset management - instead it is right back to overpaying with picks and this may be the largest overpayment we have seen from him.Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 11:01 am I’m not happy with this trade. He should have been trading from a position of strength (in that he was trading with a cash strapped team who just extended JT) but instead it seems he was completely exploited.
Wow.
Caveat: I do like JT but
1) not at this price; and
2) particularly not at this price from a team that was in cap trouble; and
3) not when considering the market value we are seeing for players from other cash strapped teams.
