Dhaliwal:
NCAA Canucks update. Everyone expects Quinn Hughes to sign with the Canucks.

Don't be surprised if Will Lockwood signs as well, he is ready to turn pro.

I am told for Tyler Madden, all options are on the table and nothing ruled out in terms of signing.

I think Madden should play another year in college and get a bit stronger, but Hughes and Lockwood would be great to sign. I think Lockwood will be in the AHL "paying dues" for a season or two, but Hughes will be top four in the NHL from day one.

Ya, Tyler has great numbers in his first year but he's 5.11 and 150.

This makes me wonder if Dahlen's agent was reading the tea leaves and seeing 2 forwards coming by the end of the year that would push Dahlen further down the depth chart.

San Jose will be a harder lineup to crack than Vancouver for the near future

I’m not sure what leaves he was reading

Or, the agent read the leaves correctly, told the client who in turn told him to tell the management to trade him. Then management said 'fine' and traded his client to a worse situation for his client out of spite.

It's not like he had a NTC and could control where he was being sent.

I think SJ just wanted a boost with the barracuda.

L Karlsson is at least a couple years away, and I'm sure Thomas Gradin had some good insight on him for future use, plus he bypasses the expansion draft.

Maybe he shoulda tried to outscore Brendan fucking Gaunce before demading a callup!

One thing you can say about GMJB is that he isn't afraid to jettison a player. He seems to know what he wants.

I don't hold out much hope for Tryamkin making the team again unless he has a major shift in attitude.

Dahlen demanded a trade FROM the Canucks.

He did not demand a trade TO the Sharks.

Meh..,, the point I should have made is that Vancouver should be one of the easiest lineups in the league to crack. Is that better?

Meh. We got a kid that doesn't have to be protected in the expansion draft who has potential.

Keep in mind he had a previous crack in Utica the season before and hated it. He returned to Sweden and while the Canucks agreed with his reassignment they advocated for him to stay and learn the North American game. This wasn't the first time he pulled this.

I still would have liked for Benning to have given him a few games in the NHL to see what he could do. Having said that, if Karlsson turns out to be a better 200' player and it frees an expansion protection spot, its not all doom and gloom. Its just too bad the relationship got to that point. SJS aren't going to put up with a player who doesn't buy in to an all rounded game, that's why they found Goldobin expendable over some fo their other prospects.

Dahlen's life was simple. dominate in the AHL and get promoted. It never happened. Either he's not as shit hot as he believes or he has a terrible attitude and half assed it this season in Utica. Either scenario equates to CY being glad he is gone. San Jose drafted Linus so he must have something. Do you think GMJB talked to Petey before flushing this particular turd?
