Mr Selective Memory Blob doing the Boogaloo again. There was time, a fair bit before the draft, where Wise and Veleno were being touted as the consensus top 2. Unfortunately for Blob those “early on rankings” endeared Wise to Blob. I moved on to Madden, Blob got arm barred by old rankings
I had a grand total of one post where I said I would have preferred Wise. You probably had seen nether play. I admittedly liked the fact that Wise had excellent stats in the USHL. I didn’t bash Madden and I wasn’t devastated that we didn’t pick Wise.
We both know if the Canucks had drafted Wise you’d be saying to cut him some slack because he’s been injured and only dressed for 11 games.
The issue at hand, Man-boobs is we rarely ever see you praising the great Jimbro Benning for “not” making the picks you wanted that ended up being way worse than the one’s he ended up picking - Boeser over Konecny, Pettersson over Glass, Madden over Wise etc. Those picks are game changers! Why couldn’t Gillis do that in 6 drafts?
Is the book written on Wise at 18?
Still hoping he might turn out?
Blob, he’s been one of the worst fallers in draft history, stop it. Hes looked dreadful in the games he’s played this year. Madden is loads better! LOADS!
Jimbro sure pissed off a lot of folks for not picking that bum Jack Wise.

So he’s written off after 11 games? The book is written.
But Olaf after two and a half years of sewage. He’s 100 %.
Gotcha
TBH I wasn't even sure that Blob ever said anything about Wise (he may have, but I don't really pay attention to posts about potential 3rd-round picks).
But I love that RD has now goaded Blob into defending Wise...at least its a little variety from the usual Sutter vs Bonino war that Blob's waged for 3 years.

Meh... I made one post regarding Wise on draft day. I’m just throwing his “is the book written on this player” back at him. The kid has played 11 games since being drafted and Dude said he stunk in those games. I guarantee he’s never seen him play a shift

Blob hates getting owned by Benning
You got me there. I was enraged when he didn’t choose Wise.

Random, how the Penguins changed their fortune for the next 15 years.
2005: Pittsburgh joined the Columbus Blue Jackets, Buffalo Sabres and New York Rangers with the maximum three balls in the 48-ball bin. The lottery was weighted to give teams that struggled in recent years a better chance.
The Penguins used that and the four-leaf clover general manager Craig Patrick carried in his palm to their advantage, taking the No. 1 with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks second.
Patrick even stopped by St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York before attending the league's board of governors meeting.
Would go on to rule hockey ever since, sans the blackhawks and kings Cup windows.
Bringing this up as the pens make depth changes once again to see if that works behind crosby/malkin, how some luck can really change a franchise.
Oh yeah the Canucks haven't won the draft lotto ever in it's 50 year history, just sayin, Jim should carry a four leaf clover and visit a cathedral before the draft lotto ha.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.
