Trust me Pot, the dreaded R-word (Rebuild) is closer than you think

Yes because teams have to be torn apart, stripped down and rebuilt....it's the only way.

The Sedins have one year left on their contracts after this season and if for some reason they decide not to re-sign...it's a full on rebuild for us.

Hmmmmmm so if the twins don't re-sign the team doesn't get to spend the 12.2 million they would save on those contracts. That's interesting, must be a new rule. Full on rebuild straight ahead I guess.

It's time for a partial rebuild but not a complete teardown.

No idea what your point about a five year rebuild is regarding. I am advocating bringing in a good young impact player who can help the team now. Guys like Schwartz, Couturier, Tarasenko, Etem, Silfverberg are what I'm talking about. This team needs to get younger, quicker and better but it doesn't have to be a total tear down of the roster . I am against dealing Kesler for draft picks but people have to realize he is one of the few players on this team that could get good value and speed up the mini rebuild this team needs moving forward.Burrows and Luongo have little to no value.

Vancouver does need to do a mini rebuild for sure. Not a complete overhaul but they do have to touch a couple of core pieces between now and October. They are not in as dire of a situation as Toronto was or Calgary or Edmonton as they have a lot more depth and talent than any of those teams did when they went into their downward spirals.

I just hope Eye Bags is the right guy to give this team a facelift.

For the record I would like Eye Bags to move a few pieces of the teams core to speed up a minor rebuild but I am not in favor of a tear down Oilers style.

After 2011 debacle it was almost sacrilege to say anything about a rebuild or retool or anything like that. I didnt expect the way the team has gone but I actively talked about moving some of the core players for new blood and some assholes. Edler is and will always be (a little Trek talk there) my #1 person to get the hell off this team, cannot stand that fact that he is a big pussy that has tip toed around out there for so long and not using his body.

Finally he has a good year with minimal fire drill games and people are saying sign him again, ugh, I think I will puke in one of Strange's puppets if we do that. He should be gone and take his lazy ass attitude with him, like Top's hatred for the little Trojan nothing Edler can do now will make him worth keeping in my eyes.

The thing with Blob is that he actually says what he thinks and it may change, unlike others who really never put a line in the sand and say anything but always the first to point out what others have said. How do people do that? I cannot find anything I posted a week ago yet others can find things posted years ago and sift through all the comments just to find 1 nugget and use that 1, ok maybe 2 comments to prove their point.

Anyway I digress this thread is about the Laughs.

As many predicted if Anderson is not at the top of his game the Laughs will be in tough. The thing about the NHL which is better than most sports is that the series can change quickly. Down 2 - 0 is not the end of TO, if Toronto can get Marchand out of their minds and and not make so many defensive mistakes they can come back. FA needs to do better than allow 4 goals on I believe 8 shots in the last game.

What I find funny is TSN is running with Blue Jay and Raptor stuff and we are not subject to 10 - 15 stories about everything Laughs. Look Austin had this for lunch, it must mean that he will score 3 tonight and so on and so on.

Back on track - where is Tuna?

If Laughs win tonight I think he will be back, if they win 2 in a row then he is back big time.

If they go out in 4 - 5 games we wont see him until summer or when ever he is off suicide watch. It will be an interesting summer for them as they try to determine what is needed to fix the team.
