Right now I am optimistic Elmer will help us build our talent pool. He can be considered in the 70-80% in talent spotting. What we do with this talent is another thing all on its own. Maybe a new coach. Maybe a new GM a year or two away and they will take what we all want. A cup. Or..........we will all get on our motorcycles and go for a ride just like Luc.....who knows eh?
Whatever the result, as long as we win a cup I do not care how we get there. GO CANUCKS.

Pretty good return for the Ducks, considering everyone knew they had to trade a goalie before the expansion draft.Arachnid wrote:leaves acquire Andersen from Anaheim...

Care to share or are you going to make me google it? Maybe they trade Bernier to Calgary. They can then go out and sign Reimer and reunite to duo
Never mind, I looked it up. Damn good return, a 1st this year, 30th and a 2nd next year.

Pretty much just Calgary looking for a goalie now? Maybe Dallas but they've already got $10M tied up in that nightmare...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
We all want the team to win a cup but at this point that isn't a realistic goal. It's like being 61 , living in shit hole like Toronto ,sporting a goatee and wanting to get laid. If you are that person and you play ball hockey and tether ball and are generally a pretty ugly fella , you likely have to settledamonberryman wrote:They are stuck with Bieksa. Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Toronto and Andersen agree to a 5 year deal. Details not yet announced. That was quick. Has me thinking they may of had permission to speak before making the trade.
Justification for surrendering the first, they were targeting a goalie at 30th.

As expected:
"Andersen says the trade was contingent on him reaching a contract extension with the #leaves.”
Reports it is a 5 year, 5.5 per deal. Not confirmed.
