Pretty annoying that the Hawks got Panarin. It's like winning the Cup and getting a top-5 pick for free. Oh well, at least he didn't go to Alberta.

Not that anyone with a choice ever would...

Panarin got to develop till he was 24, so imho there's hope yet for the take awhile to develop types from euroland...Anton Rodin, Jensen.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Jensen. LOL. Give it up Skyo, Jensen is crap.

It's nice that Rodin is having success over in pussville, but the odds are heavily against him ever becoming a top six NHL talent like Panarin.

haha I'll never give up!

yeah none of them will ever be as talented as Panarin, but it's interesting he got to develop unscathed by the NHL rigors till he was 24 years old, from a Euro/Russian perspective.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Drafting D-men. The real crap shoot.

Colton Parayko - 3rd round
Ben Hutton - 5th round
Klingberg - 5th round
Harmonic - 2nd round
Barrie - 2nd round
Gelinas - 2nd round
Severson - 2nd round
Subban - 2nd round

The duds

Griffin Reinhart - 4th overall
Larsson - 4th overall
Gudbranson - 3rd overall
Schenn - 5th overall

Pretty early to be calling Larsson a bust, dude. 23 years old, plays more than Tanev. Might not be 4th overall good, but it's not like he's fallen off a cliff like Hamilton. He's in the same ballpark as Jonas Brodin in Minny.

Can make a pretty good case that the numbers say Larsson was significantly better than Tanev last year.

Ok he woke up a little last season but you redo the draft his year he ain't going anywhere near where he was picked, just like Gudbranson, Reinhart, Schenn, and even Murray and Reilly haven't lived up to their draft hype. Bottom line, the biggest crap shoot at drafting, position wise, is deference man. Waste your later picks on D-men unless it's a Doughty, Ekblad guarantee

I still think Sergachyov will be a better D-Man than Chychrun but Chychrun will go higher because he's not Russian. There is Luke Schenn/Gudbranson type potential for disappointment drafting Chychrun high. He lacks an offensive game and has bad shoulders. Sergachyov is bigger, better skater and is great offensively and defensively

Bernier assigned to AHL on conditioning stint. Leaves buying time as they are trying to trade him.

Oilers new management done with their evaluation of players and are preparing to make major changes. Believe they have the goaltending and will build around Talbot and McJesus up front. All players other than those two subject to trade, obviously not all of them.

Oilers said to be looking for defence and prospects that are NHL ready or close to it.want to make changes now as they feel with the way the division is going they can still turn it around and make the playoffs.

Price out a minimum 6 weeks.
The only HW the Canucks need

Trade Edler to the Oil. Who takes his spot, though?

If you want bigger, meaner D-men, Rahimi has gotten better since his North American stint. He is now assistant captain on his SHL team and a regular presence on the national team when NHL players aren't available.

Albeit at the moment he is suspended for a hit to the head... :-|

It would actually depend on what comes back.
