The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Tops, I know you grow up in the big mining/gold venture....but fossil fuels are coming to end my friend..

werd, live up your life in that industry, but in time like android/apple, will destroy that.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Fossil fuels may be ending (their not actually) but all of the green tech still has to be made out of something.

I do believe that metals and mining will still be required.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

That extremist muslim gunman in Australia last night...

Wifey and I were watching some of the live standoff on CNN.

CNN was running with their regular evening crew based in London.

(didn't want to wake up any of their US staff?)

So these 2 nitwits in England covered the event for hours.

As they talked about it, for a half-hour period, they played a continuous loop of the 3 women as they ran out.

It was weird because if you weren't paying close attention, you would have thought hundreds had ran out.

It was also weird how out-of-sorts their usually calm male host was.

Don't know his name, but the dude was. freaking. right. out.

Weirdest part though?

The police kept saying it would end peaceably, that they were working hard to determine the gunman's name.

Yeah, cuz his name is so important! :roll:

Then CNN started showing live footage of the lone hostage-taker through the window:

I said to the wife: Snipers have a clear shot, WHY DON'T THEY TAKE HIM OUT!

(snipers had been in position for hours)

That was, I think, a few hours before police stormed the cafe.

(wifey and I had long gone to bed by then)

So yeah, now I'm sitting here wondering why 2 innocent people are dead and a few more injured.

Yeah, I don't think they know what they're doing Down Under.

Or back in jolly ole England for that matter.
