Re: JT Miller Traded to NYR

An underwhelming return which was to be expected but still frustrating. Miller is a great player at his peak but obviously something needed to give I guess. Last year was a welcome reprieve from the last decade. Just a bizarre turn of events and drama.

Re: Pettersson/Miller

Naslund was the ultimate choke artist in the post-season. I was a huge fan of his when I was younger. The WCE was electric. But never able to grab that extra gear in the playoffs. Mostly agree with your summary and I know this is not the point of this thread but I think Naslund's playoff "choke ...

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

Not surprised to see the usual suspects completely derailing this thread. Would expect nothing less. What a sad way to spend your time. On another note pretty impressed by the way 1040 has been handling the situation and outpouring of support from the callers. Regardless of what you thought of Botch ...

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

We gripe often about the media and indeed Botchford had a distinct style which many found grating, others entertaining, but any way you slice it this is tragic news. Way too young and seemed to be in good shape. Just reminds you of the frailty of life. Like many I didn’t always agree with his o ...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Edler was never as bad as the hyperbole vomited on this board. But he did peak and decline. But he has declined to a pretty good spot; he was quite good last year and was not bad the two years before. He has, however, carried a sizable burden, and that's where many of the warts show. But is a ...

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

I don’t mind the Moj, he is actually the one trying to drive the relevant sports talk while all Taylor wants to do is talk Seinfeld, celebrity news, Gene Kininski, New Westminster Salmonbellies lacrosse and all things 1970’s. Taylor needs to remove himself from sports talk, he was done when Sports P ...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

Meh... not one of those guys has established himself as fuck all. Wake me up when he wins a trade outright. Like steals a legit top 4 D or a legit top 6 forward. Two of those guys can barely hang with a team that’s bottom 3 in the league and one hasn’t suited up for a game yet. I agree with your gen ...

Re: The Rebuild...

Now the other side of a championship team without a #1Dman is the 1996 and 2001 Avs, but they had the same good ol' Canadian #1C and Euro #2C, strong down the middle, but their top tier dman was a QB in 96' Ozolinsh and 01' was Blake, with Foote patrolling the D, plus goalie on fire Patty Roy, so ...

Re: The Brexit disaster

Lol not gonna get my traction on this subject in Western Canada based fan forum! Meanwhile in the U.K. we have been inundated with Brexit news which has been nauseating to say the least! I was out of the country for a few months which was a welcome break from the brexit firestorm. As much as I ...

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

I don't mind Pratt these days, used to hate him but he's toned it down since his return. 1040 needs to do something about the afternoon show and All Things 1970's - Don Taylor Agree 100%. A few years ago Pratt was absolutely insufferable and got himself fired for his tired bike lane rants. Since he ...

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

More Karen Surman and Sattiar Shah and less Taylor and Macdonald and Jake etc This. It's time for a changing of the guard. When Blake Price and Matt Sekeres are the youngest hosts on your network, you've got a major lack of representation. I wouldn't care if there was diversity of opinion and ...

Re: The Rebuild...

The man should be lynched right in front of the University of Victoria for the absolute atrocious mess he made of this once storied franchise. Storied franchise? We are all die hard fans here but I think it's more than wishful thinking to describe the Canucks in such terms especially in the ...

Re: Canucks Contracts

I highly doubt Horvat signs a long term deal for less than 5 million. Either you're looking at a bridge deal in the 4 million range or 5 - 6 million long term. The rest of that forward RFA group is pretty telling. :( I'd qualify Boucher.... maybe Rodin (doubtful) and I guess some combo of the ...
