Captain Bo disagrees...

He's got skills but can't help thinking he found Utica a fun place to play
and collect his NHL level paycheck.
You really think he prefers playing in the AHL than the NHL?

Ferland is working hard, not feeling symptoms and has aspirations of starting the season. Ya, right! Retire, man.

Yeah - "Oh no! We don't have Tanev!! Stetcher's gone!! Markstrom's GONE! AHHHhhhhhh" - yeah, we'll miss Tanev's steady presence when he wasn't injured - Stetcher is easily replaced by a bigger body - and goaltending is set. We'll have another top 4 before the season starts.

There will be an asset added to the top 4 defense Chef. Its not even a question of if but rather who.
What about the asset added to the bottom pairing?.... which doesn’t currently exist...
Three D men out and they were all a LOT better than Chatfield, Olaf and One Eye Yellow Teeth
Hughes Myers
Edler Benn
Crapfield Olaf
Cafferty
is hands down the worst group in the NHL.
There are four NHL D men on the roster currently and that includes Jordie Benn.
And no this isn’t anyone panicking, just pointing out the obvious. A bad defence last year is a lot worse ATM. And one decent top 4 guy..... hell even an OEL or Pietrangelo isn’t going to change that without also adding some depth.

It looks increasingly like Mr Aquilini has instructed Cool Hand Jim to wait it out for some bargain basement deals.
Perhaps the big boss isn't in a spending mood this off season, what with no gate revenue coming in and all.
I get this. And I’m fine with it. Wait it out and make a trade. I just laugh at all the rocks being thrown at Tanev, Stecher, Fantenberg etc and people actually expecting the terrible trio to step up and replace them.

Hes obviously not done Doyler. Why dont you wait see what happens before assessing the pairings and what not? 9 weeks til camp...
Obviously he isn’t done... my response(s) are more to the folks throwing boulders at the guys leaving and then offering up garbage AHL scrubs as replacements. Lots of time for shit to shake out, but the longer other teams look at the scabby mess on the ass end, I can’t imagine Ignitowski is gaining any leverage.
No point blowing your load on what could easily be a shortened season with zero gate revenue. Do we even know yet whether there will be cross-border games, or if teams will need to be in a bubble again? If I was the owner I would be treating the upcoming season as a write-off and go for bargain deals or just develop prospects. Or if you go for an OEL, drive a hard bargain. Yeah, I was expecting more activity from Jimbo, but tbh what's currently happening makes a lot of sense.
