Todays lines and pairings at practice. Seems like Hoggy's accountable, but not DeBrusk.

Fuck it took me forever to find the new little post button. I could only find the quote one
You kids need to settle the fuck down with your "improvements "
The Canucks had their shit pushed in pretty good by Carolina. The score dramatically flattered the home team.
I think everyone is tiring with the pouting Pettersson drama as well. Not to mention DaBrusk floating around the perimeter and coach T has some shit to give.
The good thing is they'll be eager to make amends tomorrow. I expect a much better showing

So listening in to the Canucks radio today... apparently the team is looking into trade options on a top 4 D.
With the depth on the wings it seems pretty obvious that would be where we are making a play from. The obvious one to be dangled would be Hoglander. Possibly Silovs as well if they get good news on Demko

Pettersson + Willander to CBJ for Fantilli + Jiriceck.
Toss in what needs to be tossed in as sweetener.

Silver Linings
Vancouver is only 2pts back of where they were a year ago. 6-2-1 last year vs 4-2-3 this October.
However;
A year ago, they were confidently blowing teams out, this year they are struggling to get to OT and a point. A year ago, they were +30 in goals, this year they are -4.
Other than training camp emergency signing Lankinen, and pint size shit disturber Sherwood, none of the off season additions have meshed.
... and then there is the $11.6 million dollar question mark. As an employer, what would you do if your highest paid employee didn't show up for work for a month? Or five months?
Eight goals since January 2024. Signed his new deal March 2nd.
34 points in his last 55 games, 0.62PPG. That's a 51 point season.

One would think they could have paid him $9M per year and then run $2.6M for psychiatry and counselling as a medical expense to save on cap space.

Is every thread about Pettersson now? The guy is struggling and sucking the hind tit. Has been for 40 or 45 games. He has also had a knee problem, gets he bottom of the barrel for linemates and clearly has some mental issues regarding confidence and is quite obviously self conscious.
His play looks jumbled and where he used to be able to lazer a pass right on the tape, it has a lot
less velo on it and he looks unsure. Same as when he's shooting or in the wheelhouse to score. He's lost or misplaced that killer instinct.
This fan base eats it's young like no other. People telling him to jump off a bridge on social media. Pure class. It's funny that so many posters having their hissy fits didn't bat an eye when the team was a garbage fire under "the genius".... they gobbled more goo instead.
The good player is in there. I'm hoping he sorts it out. But if he hangs a 55 point season up, it's time to move him before the NMC kicks in.

Agree. I would probably give it until TDL, if he hasn't sorted itself out I would try to trade him (lay the ground work a few weeks earlier) while other teams think he just needs a change of scenery too and would be willing to go all in to get him.
Below is just and example of a trade:
To Columbus: Petey
To Vancouver: Fantilli, '25 1st, high mid round pick (2nd/3rd), Decent forward and/or 2nd pairing D.
Using Columbus as an example here as they have a lot of cap space now and would probably want to get there hands on a potential franchise player they could market the hell out of for their fan base.

apparently Petey's shot and skating velocity are way down compared to last year
this kid is mentally fucked up
(btw, the new UI/UX for the board is really not good - confusing icons, small and crunched up layout)
