It antagonized Russia to consider the Ukes for admission to NATO. If there's no war then support should end anyway and the same goes for western troops

In Laymen’s terms it would be like America going to war with Canada to take over Canada while the rest of world turns a blind eye, lets it happen. Don’t care to come to Canada’s help. It’s like the world is on the verge of being split into three super powers - China, Russia and America, a race to absorb the weaker satellite countries around them, this is what we are about to allow.

Well most of the stuff I’ve been reading is saying that Russia isn’t really a conventional threat to anyone anymore. They’ve decimated their armor reserves, losing ~3500 tanks in this conflict, depleted munitions stores, lost personnel, and don’t necessarily have the production/manufacturing capacity to replace some of these losses.

‘Merica pretty much propped Ukraine up enough (with the help of NATO allies) to prolong things to the point that Russia seriously weakened themselves.

You’ll end up with North America, Europe, and China, as the three powers……Russia will be absorbed by China, Australia will either be conquered by China or become an EU member. The northern parts of Africa will join Europe. The rest of Africa and South Am will become vassal states that are exploited for their resources and their people second class citizens.

The madness continuing is Putin's negotiating chip. He'll agree to stop if all of Ukraine is handed over to Russia. Especially if the West is signaling withdrawal of support. Putin doesn't care how many troops die.

No that's not anything even remotely close to being comparable.

The war is already happening and somebody needs to stop it. That's it that's all.

That’s what Chamberlain thought too, but Britain and France betraying Czechoslovakia and having them cede territory to Germany ultimately led to World War 2.

If Russia is rewarded for attacking Ukraine, they will sit back and rebuild their military and. Then attack another neighbour. Whether it will be Poland, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia or Finland is hard to predict, but I’m certain that there will be a major war in Europe within five years if Putin gets to call this a win.

Another effect of ceding territory is that this means the rules based postwar world order has officially ended. The UN charter and Geneva conventions are no longer valid, as they both prohibit the expansion of territory through war. That is a terrible message to send to the world.

A just peace must be based on respecting the territorial integrity of Ukraine and their right to independence and sovereignty. And of course a sovereign nation has an absolute right to sign treaties with other sovereign nations.

Yeah, it’s crazy. You don’t give up negotiating chips before the negotiations begin.

Also, he is doing this without consulting with Ukraine, the EU and Nato.
His allies are in a state of shock as he is already conceding things that they consider unthinkable.

What happens if Trump and Putin sign an agreement that neither Ukraine or the EU can or will accept?
