Mini Me PP did make a good point regarding tariffs and fentanyl

Trump is only raising tariffs with China by 10% yet the very products used to make Fentanyl all come from China. Go figure

The most telling part of Justin's speech was the Q&A at the end. There's plenty of clips floating around so you needn't watch his speech. He was biting his lips at the questions.

Why doesn't Trump take your phone calls?

nibble, nibble, on the Max Factor and ramble on that Trump is a busy man ... in other words, I'm not important

Why don't you recall Parliament for debate and coordination of a response?

nibble nibble, ooooh I love the taste of this shade of rouge no wonder TayTay wears it, we don't need democracy, I thought I told you the reason why I admire China.

I have to ask, where has the Maple Syrup MAGA rhetoric gone? Where has the feminist "they should have voted for the woman" lecture gone?

Poilievre with a consistent on point response. He has been on this same message since before becoming leader of the Conservatives.

Cousin Strawberry wrote: Sat Feb 01, 2025 10:06 am The global simultaneous leadership vacuum we are enjoying these days is seriously weird. When in history has there ever been more incompetent leaders of nations in power at the same moment in time?
I think it's a change from "Who can run the country better" to "Who can get elected over our opponent" - add in the massive pandering to get any votes possible, and it's soon not about leadership, but being a poster boy. For some reason, far-right candidates have played the game better lately.
Yet if you talk globally, it's not all cut and dried. In Europe it has been more of whoever was in charge recently is getting kicked out and replaced.

Left leaning governments:
UK, Spain, Portugal, Germany (albeit may soon change), Norway, Iceland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Albania

Liberal/centrist governments:
France, Belgium, Ireland, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Moldova, Croatia, Montenegro

Right leaning governments:
Sweden, Finland, Lithuania, Czechia, Austria, Italy, the Netherlands, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece

And then there's the Swiss... How can you tell? The Federal council has seven members that take turns being president and its members come from a grand coalition of four parties - the Liberals, the Social Democrats, the Centre party and the People's Party (conservative). Most important questions are determined through referendums. So who's in charge? :|

Yeah, it's a mixed bag. If you just count the countries, there are 11 right leaning, 10 liberal/centrist and 9 left leaning, but if you factor in population... Germany (83M), UK (68M) and Spain (48M) all lean left. France (65M) and Poland (41M) are centrist. Of countries with more than 20 million people, Italy (59M) is the only one that has a right wing government.

Trudeau to Paris for an AI conference.

You'd think you could attend remotely, or if you knew anything, pretend to attend remotely.

Trump’s talk on annexing Canada ‘real,’ Trudeau says in hot mic moment

https://globalnews.ca/news/11008590/can ... p-tariffs/

Trudeau, who was in Toronto to host a Canada-U.S. business summit on Friday, was heard saying Trump’s plans to annex Canada were a “real thing.”

“I suggest that not only does the Trump administration know how many critical minerals we have but that may even be why they keep talking about absorbing us and making us the 51st state. They’re very aware of our resources, of what we have and they very much want to be able to benefit from those,” Trudeau can be heard saying.

“But Mr. Trump has it in mind that one of the easiest ways of doing that is absorbing our country. And it is a real thing,” Trudeau
