How much salt could it be in the wound if McDavid and Hall are both invited to the World Championship team and get to play together and absolutely destroy as linemates?
I sometimes shudder to think what could have been there with them as a duo. Hall is one of the few guys that could actually skate with McDoofus, that would have been a scary pair on the attack.
But hey, they got Larsson.
I think Hall enjoyed the nightlife. The trade seems to have been a wake-up call.
I can see why the Oilers wouldn't want Hall/Eberle around McDavid, but they still got piss poor value for both of those guys.

How much of the "nightlife" news about players in this league is just fabricated BS? They are 20-something kids with big fat bank accounts. They are going to party. So long as they aren't Kassian level addicts and abusers, and they still bring their A-game, then it's their own business.
What you didn't want around McDavid is the culture that the Oilers organization has fostered for over a decade, it has nothing to do with players like Hall and Eberle or RNH. It's the losing culture, the we will fix it next year, and the incompetence that pervades the upper echelons of that franchise that see's them hire GM's who make retarded decisions.

There is at least one talking head out there who thinks that McDavid will privately ask for a trade this summer. Wow is it bad in Edmonton.

If I was an Oiler living in Edmonton I’d one up the night life there and hit the crack houses

Shittier climate aside, how would that differ from your current life as a tradesman in Vancouver?

Well there were a ton of rumours, up to a stint in rehab the summer of his trade. But even the most charitable assessment would have to admit these guys did not bring their A game consistently and had no interest in playing anything resembling responsible hockey.
I would suggest that Hall and Eberle (and others) were a big part of fostering that culture, which was a toxic mix of shit management, weak leadership, and poor character. There was no Mario to tutor Crosby here, or even a Marleau/Matthews/Marner. They turned the keys to the team over to these high-end youngsters and let them do whatever they wanted.

It worked for the boys on the bus so why not repeat, right?

Both Hall and Seguin enjoyed the nightlife, both benefitted form their wake up call trades, unfortunate for the teams who drafted them. I’m still not a fan of these two players, not the greatest and most dedicated players, apparently, from rumblings, Hall is still not the greatest teammate, in Jersey and we all saw the owner in Dallas tear Seguin a new one in Dallas

The Panthers have fired head coach Bob Boughner and assistant coach Paul McFarland.

Joel Quennville likely to take over in FLA. Coach Q would be the one guy I’d turf Travis for.
Willie is out in LA too. Take your Indian sweater, your moustache, your dance moves and your lick lipping elsewhere.
Housley is out in Buffalo.

That western lineup looks like some good hockey... there may be a blowout but there shouldn’t be... looks pretty even

#FlaPanthers contract with new coach Joel Quenneville is this according to a source: 5 years, $5.25m per with bonuses that can hit $7m. Philly, apparently, did not get outbid but Q wanted to work with Dale and Barkov. And he likes Gulfstream Park.
Coaches getting paid now, thanks to the Leaves...

I'm hearing that Todd McLellan is closing in on an agreement to replace Phil Housley as the next coach of the Buffalo Sabres and that an announcement could come as early as tomorrow.
So much for the rumours LA was keying in on him.
