Was it shaped like a Gyoza? Do you have any strange markings other places on your body that you can't remember where they came from? Do you have an odd recollection of an owl at your window? Are there "drones" lurking in the skies around your home that seem to leave as soon as you notice their presence?

Apparently he still wants Greenland as well.
Hell, it belongs to Denmark, a Nato ally, and the US already has a military base there.

I missed the threat to Denmark. I thought he was floating the idea of a sale, not conquest. When the US made the Louisiana Purchase from France, France was more or less an American ally.

He floated the idea of buying Greenland in 2019. Both Denmark and the local government on Greenland were very clear that it is a firm no. Greenland is not for sale.

This time he said he considers American ownership over Greenland a necessity.

I interpret ”necessity” as ”one way or another, I intend to make it happen”, ie a not so subtle threat of Russian style invasion and annexation. How else could this ”necessity” be realized when both Denmark and Greenland maintain they are not open to discuss a transfer of power?

And seriously, why would the people on Greenland want to exchange public health care for school shootings?
Why give up a legal minimum of 25 paid vacation days and unlimited sick leave for a system that doesn’t guarantee either?
Why exchange tuition free universities for crippling student debt?
Why give up a system of autonomous home-rule under Denmark to join a nation where mining company interests as a general rule trumps indigenous rights?

I just don’t see why they would want to become part of the USA. So the only way it could happen is by force.
