That being said, I'm not really worried about replacing Stetcher's 12 minutes of mediocre hockey.

Topper, I think you have an undeserved bias against Stech. He's just fine as a 3rd pairing guy, and surprisingly, his play doesn't drop off badly when he is pushed up the lineup due to injuries.

Stetchers fancy stats last season showed he was NOT a 'turnover' machine, and he hasn't been bad this year either..

The lil' trojan's ill timed pinches, lost puck battles along the boards taking him out of position, bad passes, horrid defence, missed shots (Garrison bad or worse) all make him expendable. Every D partner he's had is worse when partnered with #51 because they are stranded by his ineptitude.

I swear some here have love affairs with every little peach fuzz player to don the rink stick.

Blah blah blah. .... nobody is saying he’s any good but you trolled the fuck out of this place for years saying Sbisa and Gudbranson were competent top 4 guys when by every test- old stats, fancy stats, eye test, common sense. We all knew they stunk far worse than Stecher, yet you got run over on that hill.

My crusade against Goldobin has gone much better than Topper's crusade against Stecher.

I’m more than willing to weed these mediocre place holders out when there’s a decent replacement and some depth that can play. So far that isn’t the case yet.

I’m more concerned with rust regarding Gaudette. Why not just call up Perron and have him alternate with Louie?

If Ferland is only going to miss a game or two, and they want to call someone up to watch from the press box, I think giving Lind that little taste would be a good idea. He has played well in Utica and practicing with the team a bit would be a good reward and motivate him to keep up the good work. It just lets the kid know the brass has noticed, and he is not that far away from achieving his dream of playing in the NHL if he keeps up the hard work.

But if the team thinks the injury might require someone to actually get into a game, then it should be Baer.
