The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

"Nothing burger"?
The #1 point is that the Biden-Harris Admin "pressured" Facebook to censor Americans.
You have tried to present yourself as Mr. Free Speech and Mr. Absolute Truth
... and yet now you are laughing off a clear violation of your stated principles?
As to the lesser point, in the letter Zuckerberg said he regrets not pushing back harder on that government pressure...
Yeah right there's no violation of free speech here. Free speech still happened.
What about that part is red, ah nevermind...
All of a sudden Mr. Free Speech is perfectly fine with the American government trying to censor Americans!
Oh what a tangled web you've wove...
I don't know what he meant by that, he didn't elaborate. Maybe he felt pushed around even though in the end he didn't give in. I can't say. What's your point?
(So you agree nobody's free speech rights were violated?)
As an aside, currently Facebook and other social media companies are not considered common carriers, so there are no free speech rights on those platforms. Only Facebook's content moderation practices are protected as free speech (yes, corporations have free speech rights).

UMMMM we were talking about the American government trying to censor Americans.

The issue isn't Facebook suppressing speech, it is the government asking them to restrict free speech.
It is the government's action that is the issue.
Will lead Zuckerberg to endorse Trump or maybe just not endorse Harris?

Now how about that Kamala!
Catwoman was in on it.
Or she wasn't, and was gifted the candidacy.
I like the story that after Pelosi and the Obamas forced Joe out they were hoping for a mini primary so Kamala would get the boot as well, but Joe, in a final act of defiance, passed the torch to the VP.

Apparently she needs a male support animal as well
But a chipmunk for a support animal? That's weird.

The visuals were horrible. Harris's posture was weak, sitting low in her chair, often looking down as if she was reading stock answers from a sheet of paper in her lap. She did not look powerful. From the camera angle, Walz appeared to tower over her and did so while continuously nodding his head. He looked like a bobblehead.
On substance it was as vacuous as expected. Harris kept referring to her stated policies. Hmmmmmmm, she hasn't said much for policy other than grand statements (tax credits for individuals, tax increases for corporations). Spoke of Day One actions but was never really pressed on the past 3.5 years (used covid recovery for not implementing policies in the past 3.5 years). Often seemed to miss the influence of the current administrations policies and tried to blame them on her opponent.
Walz simply changed subjects immediately when asked an uncomfortable question. Justified his credentials by saying his former students came out at the convention to support him. Asked about his misstatements on combat and IVF, it was the same as the party lines, I speak from the heart and off the cuff to get the bigger message across. Isn't that what they accuse their opponent of? Weak.
CNN host never pressed the issues with follow up or interrupted rambling answers to refocus on the question. Contast with the same interviewer questioning JD Vance.
The whole thing was overly stage managed and probably did nothing to help her escape the scripted Party controlled nature of her campaign.
Trump also did an event, a highly scripted live townhall interview from Tulsi. It was a way for Trump to highlight his policies. Not as puffball as Harris/Walz discussing white man taco recipes. Best question was Tulsi discussing her own experience with IVF (failed- excusing her childless cat lady status) and that gave Trump an opportunity to state his policy on IVF and counter the accusation of wanting to cancel it. Trump wants Federal funding and/or mandating private health insurance to cover their clients IVF treatments.
