The Horvat trade was a trade that worked out for both teams. Good RS defenders like Hronek is probably the most expensive and hardest asset to acquire. The Horvat trade helped in making Hronek possible, I look at Raty and hys potential as a bonus to that trade and if he pans out we obviously win the trade. But Horvat is doing good on Long Island, both clubs are happy
Bo does 2 things well...he wins draws and flips in pucks from the bumper with a quick pinball flipper shot.
Not taking anything away from him but he is no JT Miller
Bo has his limitations and yes he’s no JT. He’s not on my Team Canada. Plus he crashes on shifts early and plays more like a winger, not a true set up guy giving his wingers beautiful feeds.
He's like a plough horse. Without one you starve but you win races with the thoroughbreds.

And straight onto waivers? I don't get this one, though of course they don't pay me the big bucks to make these decisions.
20% on Poolman is $500K to the cap and gets rid of any LTIR issues that keeping an extra body around could arise.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.
I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Abby depth so we can call RePete up????
D Peter is a ways away yet. Brannstrom can run the PP in Abby. At most he'd be insurance if they get some injuries. Clears a contract for Colorado. This is getting expensive in picks and assets to undo all these previous Elmer blunders. It gives the team some real wiggle room to add a player in season now. I'd like to see another forward with some skill and bite to his game. And you can never have enough quality' D men. I don't like pissing picks away but I hate a mangled cap even more. Go with what they've got for now and re-assess next month.
“I don’t care what you and some other poster were talking about”
Interesting deal. I guess a 4th is worth 1.1 million? (Poolman salary sent minus brannstrom’s salary). That’s not bad.
Upside of getting rid of Poolman contract is that Canucks will have some salary accruing for a mid season pick up (most likely). I expect Canucks will send Baines or Raty (or both) down when Joshua’s back, subject to other injuries. And Silovs will be assigned once Demko is ready. Canucks wont have 2.5 from waiving all of those guys since they will keep at least 22 healthy (I suspect), but another 800+ minimum will be added to the 437.
The Abby team was already loaded with defensemen. Now it is silly. Wonder if Canucks will be able to move any low-prob d prospects for a low prob goalie or forward prospect. Or maybe loan one out. What’s the point of having Wolanin in the system at this point?
