The first trait you want to see from young D are wheels. If they have that to begin with they can evolve into something special as the years progress. DPetey certainly looks like he can move but at that number? Is that accurate or altered? With Mancini and Willander, whose best assets are their wheels, the young D core looks very very promising.

Btw, is it just me or anybody else secretly wishing for an injury in the middle pairing. Not that MPetey or Myers have been playing bad, I just kinda want to see both DPetey and Mancini in the lineup the rest of the way. Can't take Forbort out just for principle alone as he's been an absolute horse and deserves to play. So I won't cry if there's an injury elsewhere. I don't give a shit about the playoffs, I want to see development.

There will almost certainly be adjustments. I'm pretty stoked about how this kid will develop in about 2-3 more years. He's still only 21

To be fair, he said he was slow at the pivot when defending the rush. I still agree with that, as even with that speed - he has been walked a few times by quick forwards.

Still, until Rats pointed it out - I didn't really see the wheels. Then went looking, and sure enough - kid has a giddy-up

Derek Forbort is a better defenseman than Nik Zadorov (and I am a NZ fan). Hes obviously not tougher, doesn't police the bullshit as well or hit as hard but he's nonetheless a better defender.

Neither guy is capable of handling regular top 4 minutes. But one is 3.5m cheaper. I'll take the discount despite the deterrent factor or occasional mad puck rushes. A good honest, hard-working and reliable defender. Plus really likeable team dude easy to cheer for, we should appreciate him.

They need a deterrent. Z is too expensive. Tanner Jeannot at 2.75 per as a UFA makes some sense. Or dig the younger JackEye out of Montreal. Guys like Dude will have to run to their blankies when the fights start. Reavo looks cooked.

Jeannot would work for me. Jack is probably going nowhere they love him.

The bullshit Washington pulled with weenies like PLD harassing our superstar without consequence is completely unacceptable. They just let him rag doll the captain ffs and that includes JTM doing fuck all as well
