The difference between corporate vice "Mom & Pop" owners, perhaps. I can imagine one following marketing data and business models where the other treats it as an expensive vanity project/equity.

We'll see how many suckers will still pay more to watch next season with just as putrid a squad.

Look at it this way. No matter the model, the Canucks will be able to legitimately raise prices after 26-27 because no matter how poorly they do, they will at least match expectations.

Well, they can't expect to go any lower... not without another round of league expansion.

AIG has to pay for pretty black seats and Calder Cup rings.

Surely we can't expect them to foot the bill.
