For what it’s worth I wouldn’t like a Backlund signing any more than I liked the Sutter trade or signing. For a team in the infancy of a rebuild neither player at those bloated dollars makes any sense. You could get a better bang for the buck from a Brad Richardson type player at a fraction of the cost.

I would suspend him for the remainder of the season and the first round of the playoffs.

I know someone closer to home who would knocking on 40 if he wasn't injured - and I don't think any of us would have expected it, either!
