Sorry BoS, Nucks have 1 top 3 forward so they need both forwards and defence
Who is the one top 3 forward? Also, you and your scouting department have already declared all of those prospects as not top line players? Wow. You should be charging money for those bold, accurate predictions. :mex:
Horvat is the single top 3 forward on the team.

If you disagree tell me who will be top 3 for this team?
Yup sadly so far this is a one man top line forward team for now in Bo Horvat, his pal Baertschi seems destined to be a career 2nd line LW averaging 35-40 points per season, which is good for cheap depth.

Boeser has potential to be a #1 line forward, but like with all Canucks coaches it's gonna take a few months for him to earn the coaches trust to get those quality minutes.

The Dahlen-Pettersson combo has vast potential (prospect, prospect, prospect) yes, but gonna take a couple years for those seeds to blossom.

To help sell tickets and get a winger who can help Horvat in the top line I'd still kick the tires on Duchene or even Landeskog.

If those prove to be too rich, I'd stil like to target Galchenyuk, the perfect buy low candidate, he'd be a perfect 3rd line center with Eriksson, and could be a good placeholder on the 2nd line while Pettersson develops for a couple years when the Sedins retire.

#1C Horvat
#2C Sedin
#3C Galchenyuk

Lol Vancouver has nothing to give up for these players Skyo. Not to mention Duchene is a free agent in 2019. So you pay a huge premium for a guy who would give you less than two years and then bolt to UFA to go play for a good team. If we had what Colorado wanted for Landeskog I'd kick the tires but I'm sure there ain't much we have that they'd be interested in. Would you trade Boeser and the 2018 1st for Landeskog ? I don't think I would but that's what it would take at minimum.

Didnt know where to put this but Toronto Sports Network has the Laughs ranked #1 in the league.

I thought journalist where supposed to have some integrity and report the truth?

Can't wait to see the fans and media start to cry (and Tuna breath) as the team drops as other teams learn to play against them.

Canadian "national" level hockey media descended to the level of league/club puppetry a long time ago - about the time that media corporations started buying sports clubs. Outside of blogs and some local media, Canadian hockey journalism is now nothing but publicists and marketers. I only read TSN and Sportsnet content for laughs and rumours - and then laugh at half the 'rumours'.

In the league ?

I don't even have them as top 5 in the East points wise after 82 games. They are not built for that yet.

Just EIGHT more years to go for Parise and Suter's contracts at $7.5M per with full NMC.

Almost half-way through those mega contracts for minny.

And they have nothing to show for it.

Contracts are too high for good players.

Interesting idea. This implies that you would be better off building a balanced team with a lot of almost-star players, but no superstars. In theory, I would be inclined to agree with you, but between them, the Blackhawks and the Penguins have 6 of the last 9 Cups, and they have superstar-heavy payrolls.

Bieksa out indefinitely with hand injury. Contrary to what some thought, it's his left hand, the non superman hand.

The Ship has sailed, all the way back to Russia. Vegas to place him on unconditional waivers for the purposes of a mutual voiding of the contract. Wonder if he gets to keep his 2.5 million dollar signing bonus.
