Everyone will forget about Benn after awhile and by the end of the season or next season he'll be ripping it up scoring mad points.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Benny's contract would fuck us. NOBODY 'rips it up' when they are 35 any they are playing on a young team. They slowly get pushed down the lineup until they are in the press box. Learn from Erickson!!!
This is one of the reasons GM's are giving the monster contracts to young guys. The league is getting younger. We don't need to pick up other GM's mistakes. We have one of our own, and it's big enough, thanks.
Fuck, could you imagine If we had all Skyo's favorites?? Seabrook, Benn, Karlson, etc... where would we be then?? Lol
A team of 6 guys we were paying 60 million
No cup there!!
The 'Chain of Command' is the chain I am going to beat you with until you understand I am in charge.

Nah, I just know when a player will rebound, just like Dustin Brown - who you clowned a lot, I was trynna suggest Eriksson for Brown back in the days when Brown was looking like he's done but ya'll hated DB.
Then the now almost 35 year old (Nov4) Brown goes and rips it up with 61pts, 51pts and currently has 6pts in 9 games this season, likely another 50+ point season for the 35 year old.
Jamie Benn will do the same - scoring more than that for another good 5-6 years.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

If we keep guys like Demko and Gaudette with the team 3 years from now it is because they are going to be significant pieces going forward. Demko will be expected to be the man in net, and Gaudette will be anchoring the 3rd line, 2nd PP (assuming Bo and Petey stay on the first unit together), and hopefully have learned how to PK. To say that Demko will take a Crawford or Holtby contract is laughable. Those are deals that those players will have signed 8 and 9 years previously at the time we extend Thatcher. It would be like asking Pettersson to accept Nik Bakstrom's current deal salary.SKYO wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 8:29 pmEven at $85M it can conceivably work:Mëds wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 1:24 pmIf Demko is our goalie it means he's proven himself to be the elite guy we hope he is.
Benn $9.5M - Pettersson $10M - Boeser $5.875M
Miller $5.25M - Horvat $5.5M - Ferland $3.75M
Roussel $3M - Gaudette $3M - ______________
____________ - Beagle $3M - ______________
Hughes $7.5M - Myers $6M
___________ - ___________
Benn $2.5M - Woo $891K
Demko $7.5M
DiPietro $811K
Luongo Recapture $3M
Total Cap: $76.36M
cap space $166K lol with Luongo's 3M recapture.
Lu's recapture is conveniently gone when Boeser needs a raise.
Demko I'd say would get a Corey Crawford or Braden Holtby $6M AAV contract.
When Horvat needs a new contract, Ferland and Miller will be UFA's.
Podkolzin could get a bridge contract in the year 2024.
And my hunch is Roussel will be snapped up by Seattle, seems like a perfect guy to add to a expansion team for experience/work ethic blah blah.
Just like my prediction of Sbisa getting taken by Vegas.
Benn here via trade only works if Dallas retains $1.5M or more.....which they won't do.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Dustin Brown makes $5.8 million
Benn makes $9.5 million
Brown 9 games 3 goals 3 assists
Benn 11 games 1 goal 4 assists
Brown is 34
Benn is 30
Warren Buffet would tell you that Benn is a very bad investment
Benn hasn’t been the same since Tryamkin rag dolled him

Be honest Mëds, goalies only really get paid BIG time when they are UFA's, Demko would have to put up Carey Price or Vasilevskiy like numbers if he were to get paid crazy.
Even John Gibson only got $6.4M per long term.
Hasek like Vasilevskiy took a 3 year bridge @ $3.5M per.
Vezina - Price took a 2 year bridge then a 6 year $6.5M per.
Goalies don't generally don't get overpaid as you might presume.
Even John Gibson only got $6.4M per long term.

That’s why Buffet is a billionaire and you push shopping carts into cars. SKYO, you’re too attached to yesterday Benn, move on.

My assumption is it will be the same as 34 yr olds earning their $6M payday. On the Canucks, the answer is ZERO.Reefer2 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 4:46 pmNot sure I agree with that, how many 35 year olds making $9.5M earn their pay?The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 2:42 pm Jamie Benn is still an elite scoring wing Blob. Are you going to take my action that Miller will out-produce Benn this year? I'd extend that to over the next 5 years, Miller will have more points than Benn.SKYO wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 10:00 pmThat's why Zuckerberg is a billionaire and you're still cruising around on a rusty bike with spandex, you'll lose this one, move on.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 9:56 pm That’s why Buffet is a billionaire and you push shopping carts into cars. But Skyo let's just say you're right and Benn has value. I'd only consider taking him for a deal built around Loui and Baertschi, and with Dallas retaining. If you're right, what price are you willing to pay? Dallas is old, they repeatedly need youth and picks, especially if they pick up the tab on Loui. Are you willing to pay the price to get rid of Loui and add Benn?
Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO
This whole pipe dream (aah...quiet shout out to the thread title) rests on Loui's contract no longer being on the books. Until that happens, what's the point of even looking at dreams like this?ESQ wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2019 10:00 amAre you going to take my action that Miller will out-produce Benn this year?
