Thnx Chef, some interesting fun facts about Vancouver history. I noticed Eve Lazarus (author of Van-city cold cases) did a blog about Iaci's as well.

Yes, Iaci’s was a pretty popular restaurant in the day. It was an old house turned into restaurant, which was originally, back in the 30’s and 40’s, a speak easy. The Iaci’s were big bootleggers as well. That’s Jose Iaci to Ross Filippone’s right. The Penthouse puts on a history tour every few months, hosted by Danny Filippone and author Aaron Chapman. Highly recommend it. Danny and Aaron have a radio show on 650 every Sunday night. I talk to Eve Lazarus often she did a blog on how the No. 5 got its name and John Mackie did a story on the bootlegging Brandolini’s recently. You can find it on-line. The Iaci’s and Filippone’s were from the Italian neighborhood on Seymour Street, bookies the Loretta’s were from that hood. The Brandolini’s were from the Italian neighborhood of Hogan’s Alley in Strathcona. A well known red light district in the 20’s, 30’s, 40’s.

I imagine by this time of year they have holes in their socks and had their furnaces shut off by Feb 15 to save cash. Lots of hamburger helper meals lately
Jimmie's Lunch

I worked Parking at the PNE in the late 80's.We'd stop by the Waldorf the odd break and smoke dope down at New Brighton Pool.. I'm an expansion baby. So late 80's. Pat Quinn started in Van in 87. Such a kind soul. Smyl, Trevor, Barry Pederson... Butcher was gowed. Bryan Burke told me I had the IQ of a shoehorn. I put several barriers around his Beamer. I had a mullet, a six pack and I stinkfingered one of the barn girls on the wooden roller coaster

Congrats to Abby..

It says 3 things.

Silvos is now going to be worth an (inflated value) of a 3rd round pick. Everyone knows we have to move him, and lots of teams will want him.

And,

We either have great depth,
or all we have is depth.

IYKYK…🤷🏼

Now is Linus Karlsson an NHL mat or is he a successor to AHL HoF Sheldon Dries?
